Thanks guys.
My mum is going to call today cos it's her day off, I'll let you know how she gets on."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
Transco came out and found no gas leak, and advised my mum to get back to british gas, which she did.
They are still unhelpful, so she is switching and is going to lose all that money!!"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
molerat wrote:To put a perspective on this, my gas bill for this last winter quarter was £150, which is for a 3 bed detatched in N Scotland and keeping the heating on 24/7 at about 22 degrees.
There is something wrong there somewhere
Try £192 for the last 3 months!!!!! Just off to do a comparison with last years prices to see how much it would have been if the prices had stayed the same. We have also had cavity wall insulation installed since last year.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
We have a 2 bed semi and our gas is £50pm

I recently discovered that there was a mistake with a new meter installation with Scottish Power over the readings that were input into the new meter and I am now due a substantial refund.
I would make sure that your Mother gets someone out to read the meter before switching.
Penny-Pincher, that must have been some mistake in your gas meter readings too as you said a couple of months ago that your gas dd was £18 per month and they wanted to put it down to £6 but you decided on £12
As you now seem to be paying £111 per month for both gas and electric I would get them both checked out that the readings are correct. I remember you claiming extra money for your heating but that still seems to be a large amount of money for a 2 bed semi.0
