calleyw, I haven't heard of the tax exemption bit for parking.I am tax exempt but have never noticed these signs and would be interested to know more.We too have noticed you have to pay at a lot of coastal resorts.I too am grateful for a parking place near to shops etc but obviosly if it is free all the better.Thanks.

I don't have a tax exempt car as I drive it to go to and from work so would not qualify. So don't know anything about it.

I have seen it in some seaside town car parks says free if you have disabled tax disk. Also my neigbour mentioned it to me the other day. As he said he could park for free but someone else they where with had to even though they both had blue badges.

Right, so now I know. I still do not think badge holders should be allowed to park on double yellow lines. Surely the whole point of yellow lines is to prevent congestion. If a car is causing congestion then it does not matter if it has a badge or not. It is still causing congestion. I do not suppose I will get any support on this one.

You are not always allowed to park on double yellow lines. In one of my local towns one particular road has double yellows but no parking for blue badge holders at all.

A couple where in the local paper saying they did not know at got a fine for it. I very rarely park on double yellows when with my husband who is a blue badge holder by the way.

And if you are causing congestion you can get fined for it blue badge holder or not.

I will not even get on to the subject of people who have full use of there arms and legs and parking on double yellows. In my local town you keep a traffic warden very busy with the amount of able bodied drivers parking on double yellows.

Would make there months wages in about a day and half. And that is across three different locations. All because will not park in the free for a hour car park to go to the post office or go to the bank. Reckon there legs will fall off if they have to walk to far :rotfl:
