Has anyone here seen Le Reve? I would really appreciate your honest opinion and a good idea what I am likely to see.
i'm with the others on this one! really liked it! :) best (and only :D ) show we've seen in Vegas... we went for a special occasion so went for the 'VIP' seats ($200 each  ) but as it was a special occassion it really made it! You get some nice big seats, with a little table inbetween and you get a free bottle of champagne, a host that keeps you topped up, some chocolate dipped strawberry's and best of all, a tv screen infront of you that shows all the behind the scenes / underwater stuff. This is both good and bad in that sometimes you don't know what to watch!, but it was really good to be able to see how things were being done and get to see hte bits going on underwater...

I also saw the travelzoo deal and was really tempted to go again - if the exchange rate was what it once was, i don't doubt we'd have definitely gone!

(btw. I didn't get the storyline to be honest - but that didn't seem to matter)

-- incidently, there's a bit of laughter in there too with a group akin to the three stooges running around!

Fair Point about the exchange rate , but what i was trying to Convey was that she would not be asked to pay anymore at check in if she took the price offered direct by The Stratosphere .
woops lol, wasn't in reference to something you had said - sorry if i contradicted you :)

..... but does not say what . The Ryanair of Vegas hotels .....call them up if you do go down this route and find out if there are any penalties for cancelling . i have never heard of any one mentioning any on other websites so it may just be the standard 1 day charge if you cancel less than 48 hours before your stay .

you don't get this kind of trouble booking with the likes Harrahs do you !!!! you book, you cancel, you get no charge .
good point actually, i'd forgotten they weren't run by the grand monopoly :)

edit: nuts, i have a piccy of the la reve setup -- but not on this computer -- will dig it out and post it later...

tretts - thanks for mentioning the baby thing!!! think i might give that a miss and go for Ka as like Luci says, it's not too far from Paris anyways! :)

Thanks for the trip report Stew, I enjoyed reading it.
I've been to Vegas about 12 times over the last 15 years or so, and I've loved every visit, so I know what you mean when you say you've got the 'bug'.;)
It does not look like I will make Vegas this year:(, but reading this thread is making me miss the place more and more every time I read it.

    Hi rpstdavids & all,

I have only been to vegas three times in four years, but I am completely hooked. I just dont see the point in going anywhere else - it has everything for me and I adore it!!

Like you - its unlikely that me and my OH will be going this year so I understand what you mean about missing the place the more you read this thread!! Wouldnt stop reading though :)

Stew - again, thanks for trip report - excellent read. Glad you had such a great time. That suite sounds amazing!

As for the fountains I agree on both counts - BEST free entertainment and - "Time to say goodbye" is my favourite and ALWAYS has me crying - either tears of joy at being back in Vegas (on my first night) and tears of sadness at having to leave (on my last night).

The power behind the water vibrates through you and you really feel as if you are part of the show. My OH always laughs at me - but he looks as sad as I do when we have to leave!!! I thought that American song was a bit cheesy, but like someone said on here - its nice that Americans are so patriotic - it wouldnt hurt us British to be a bit more so!

Good on all of you going across over easter - again, hugely envious!! Make sure you all do nice, long trip reports so that us "cant go this year's" get our fix!

EDIT - Finally - Congratulations Sew - really pleased to hear your great news!! You will have to join the "not going now" group and live vicariously through others trips! Though, I am sure you will be kept more than occupied by your new arrival!
    Steff;)

Thanks so much for this, just managed to book 2 of the 'cheapskate' seats for $173 for O. Wife wanted to see it last time in Vegas but tickets were sold out for the night we wanted.

Many thanks for the comments and video link.

I am still totally undecided. I think I would like to like a Cirque or Cirque-type show, but maybe I should just accept that it maybe isn't for me. However I only have Mystere to go on and it seems that I'm not the only one not to like it.

Will have to ponder for a while longer and hope that I come to a decision soon.

    Luci,

I thought the same thing which is why I tried Love and really enjoyed it, I didn't follow the story but enjoyed the spectacle, the stunts and of course the music.

Oh I forgot that Love was a Cirque show. We've already seen it and enjoyed it much more than Mystere.

Le Reve is more 'dancy' than O - and Love is quite dancy...if that helps at all. :)

I would say that O is more like Mystere (stronger Cirque elements) than Le Reve is like Mystere...they are still both very different from Mystere but Le Reve is more different...if that makes sense.

    Stew

My understanding is that there's not a storyline as such with Love - other than the sort of progression of the Beatles career and that each song's sort of essence is reflected in each number.

Ka is the only one with a clear storyline as far as I know.
