I've had my current phone and contract for three years at the end of the month and I'm wondering what to do.
I'm with T-Mobile and get 500 minutes a month off peak to land lines and 50 texts a month for £11.99.
For the last two years I've threatened to end my contract and been offered a good upgrade, and both times I've sold the upgraded phone on . Last year I sold it on ebay and it took 4 listings before I got a genuine buyer and I don't really fancy doing it again!!
Each month, I use less than 5 minutes a month of my minutes (and never use it other than off peak to landlines) and have only ever twice got to my 50 text limit.
I was thinking of finding a free unlock , cancelling the contract and getting a Tesco Value Sim , porting my number over and saving the line rental.
However, I don't think, after looking around, I can unlock my phone for free. It's an Ericsson T300, hardly the whizziest model, but it does what it says on the tin!
I don't see my useage changing and it doesn't seem worth paying a line rental for something I hardly use.
I looked at the Toucan Base plan and that is £5 a month for an 18 month contract - is it any good? There is a handset included, and so i thought one possibility would be to go to Toucan, and sell my locked handset on ebay for a few quid (probably less fraught than selling a new handset!!!)
At the time, my monthly line rental was cheap - I spent AGES looking for the cheapest deal with a free handset!
I've seen a few very basic models on PAYG around the 19.99 mark, and thought this could be another option.
I'm not sure what to do, and wondered if anyone had any thoughts??
Part of me fancies a nice upgrade by sticking with my current contract and selling the old phone on ebay, but that's not very money saving!!!

12 months contract with Orange, free phone, free line rental via cashback, 1000 off-peak minutes a month. What more could you want?

And if you go through Greasypalm or Quidco you'll get some cash from either of them too!0
