Wild duck near Great yarmouth is good, has dog walking area, loads of walks and beaches nearby, site back onto common land and you can walk there as well.

Wild Duck is a lovely site, if you want a quiet Haven thats one to go for, if you want alot for the kids to do you may be disapointed tho.

Can anyone who has been to butlins with this offer give me some info on what its like?

    I'd be hoping for skegness.

What is the accomodation like you get with the sun? Does it work out the same price as booking direct once youve paid for passes or fees?

I've heard once you pay at butlins everything is included in the price - is that right?

    thanks. x
  • I was going to book this for my daughters 8th birthday in march, but as you cannot guarantee the dates I got a price direct with the park. 3 nights for 6 of us with insurance, passes and beds made up in a quite reasonable caravan has cost us £102.50. If we go with the sun and hope for the best with the dates then it would cost us £144.47:eek: for the same holiday, maybe not even as nice a caravan ( a couple of sun holidays ago we were given a new top of the range caravan, extremely lucky that time, but on another occasion had to request a change of caravan as the one allocated smelled and was damp and dirty).

If you go to pontins in southport you can upgrade to a club appartment from a basic for about £20 extra if you phone when you get your holiday confirmation.

We did our first sun holiday last year to Butlins Skegness. One of the best holidays we have been on and whilst we go to Centerparcs each year Butlins was a completely different holiday. Tons for the kids to do ( ours were 5 and 2 ) and yes everything included in the price - other than things like the arcades but we just stayed clear of them.

I called butlins and I was offered a silver apartment for £49 more. In total our midweek break in the first week of the school summer holds last year came to £159. Total bargain as we went with 2 lots of our friends. 1 friend booked a silver apt and paid £650 and my other friend booked a standard for £300.

    hth

The kids cant wait to go back this year.

I booked for the first time last year: the dates/parks I chose were unavailable but instead of returning my cheque, they sent me a code to book online for some "unusual" dates. I got a two-day weekend one at DevonCliff for the end of August holiday but was waived of any extra (entertainment etc). I think I was then put on the priority list as I got one this year.

This happened to us too and we chose the new date they had put on the letter which was the first week of the summer holidays !!!

I too have just had my first priority form through the post.
