Here goes, & it is a long one.
We joined, or we thought we joined Talk Talk but have since found out it was Onetel. in June 2006. I was trying to register my Nectar card with TalkTalk to discover we were actually Onetel Customers. Never been told that and none of our bills actually mentioned Onetel except for the web address. So- we tried to change to TalkTalk to get the free Broadband and after waiting 3 months, yes thats right 3 months and several very expensive phone calls we were given 2 dates for Going Live. 19th Dec & 22nd Dec. Those dates passed by and nothing. A further very expensive phone call and we are told our request has been declined. Funny that. No mention on all the phone calls and the reason we were given was BT had refused to release the line. Another great big fib as we had been paying onetel for this.
Second part, so bear with me.
Our service provider for Broadband is Supanet. We have never in the 18 months with them had 8mb. The speed we pay for. Again following several 50ppm phone calls as we have been unable to access the internet nevermind broadband, we are told there must be a problem with our modem and to borrow one from a friend. Low and behold our internet connection is suddenly back. It is obvious that we are being charged for something we are not getting or ever had. What do we do because we believe that every supplier is as bad as the other. Can we claim our money back for the poor service and constant phone calls? I am seriously considering going back to snailmail at least I may get an answer.

Broadband speed depends on how far you live from local exchange ... How close you are to the telephone exchange (the closer, the faster).0
