in Phones & TV
We are with telewest for phone, tv and broadband. We currently pay £10.50 for phone, £10.50 for tv and £14.99 for broadband( this will rise to £17.99 soon)We also pay an extra £20 for sky sports 1 and 2 and our calls on top, so our monthly bill is usually around £75.
Is there any way to reduce this without too much hassle?I don't really want to swap to sky as I like telewest, but anyone got any other suggestions?
Thanks.

To reduce the cost of your calls.
At peak rate register for 1899 . 01/02 calls 3p connection 0.5p a minute from a cable line.
At Evening @ Weekends ,First Telecom@ ThePhoneCoop, both offer cheaper calls to cable users.PF.0 -

Telewest calls are free to 01/02 numbers at the weekend.Fiscal drag, that's my problem. Too many people dragging on my fiscals.0 -

Thanks i am aware of that. Thats why i did not mention specifically 01/02 calls at E&W as you will observe.
At weekends the providers i mentioned can offer cheaper calls for other destinations other then 01/02 as can 1899 of course.PF.0 -
So, let me get this straight in my head...if I register with 1899 is it best to use their number all the time, or just during the daytime?I think I am on the 321 offer with Telewest so I don't know if I get free evening and weekend calls or if that is only to other telewest customers which most of my friends aren't!
I really only want to use one other number,I want to save money, but I'm not so desperate that I can be bothered using lots of different numbers, especially as it's a bit of a faff from Telewest lines.
Thanks...0 -
The best starting point would be to find out exactly what you are paying for and what you are getting free.mintymoneysaver wrote:So, let me get this straight in my head...if I register with 1899 is it best to use their number all the time, or just during the daytime?I think I am on the 321 offer with Telewest so I don't know if I get free evening and weekend calls or if that is only to other telewest customers which most of my friends aren't!

If you are getting free calls to any UK 01/02 numbers at certain times, use TW at those times. At other times, use 1899's cable landline access number and pay only 3p connection and 0.5p/minute for calls to UK 01/02 numbers (that's far less than TW charge).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
