I disagree, professional representation would only cost about £100, as we see, that is less than the total value of the claim, and the cost would have been recoverable up to a limit of £250 IIRC if the defendant had won the case.
In a small claims court all parties are responsible for their own costs, if a person chose to be legally represented and won there is no scope within the small claims track for legal fees to be paid. (If I am wrong please refer me to the relevant part of the CPR)
I also question £100, if you can point me to a lawyer that will travel to a court, prepare/file and serve defence packs, sit around in a court for a couple of hours then defend a case for £100 then I will be amazed.
Not sure where the £250 figure came from, maybe you can point us to the relevant part of the CPR for this ?0 -

Beware of 'poo' that comes from members of sites with 'poo' in the name.0 -
Oh dear, Mr "I'm not Perky" and "I'm not connected to a parking company" reverts to his baser instincts. Clearly there is something about the site Pepipoo that rattles him, even though he has no axe to grind of course.0

I really could not care less that you may think I am connected to a parking company or "Perky", "Excel" or any other name you may come up with.
There are many people on MSE that have differing views and therefore I suspect we must all be working for a parking company when in reality we are not the fact is this site is for open discussion not a closed, 1 way blinkered viewpoint as others tend to be.
The comments of MSE Wendy ring true, discuss and lets not get too hot and bothered about it.0 -

As you will know Mike, you have not been banned from Pepipoo under your many usernames, but some of your potentially libellous statements have been removed. MSE members may also like to know that Perky came on to Pepipoo asking for help with a speeding matter, so he can't think the advice there is all bad.
Anyway, on with the debate!
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
Seems clear as day to me but it is up to others to make up their own minds. The posting regards the vendetta with the individual who is attacked on the website of the company that therealdeal has nothing to do with is a bit of a giveaway to me at least. If I may say so your posts do seem all one way, therealdeal, and I have seen the same or similar many times on other sites, but we shall see if that changes in the future. I think it is entirely appropriate to question if advice given on this site is being given by a boss of a private parking company, who has a clear vested interest. Posters are entitled to know whether the person volunteering advice has some hidden axe to grind. Personally I have none and will try to help people where I can. Can therealdeal say the same?0

LOL, here is the thread where private parking boss Perky pleads for help from the legal experts he derides:http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=33579 Oh to have such flexible principles.therealdeal, as you tell us you have nothing to do with Perky I trust you will not feel the need to jump to his aid.0 -

I was wrong on that one, was thinking of something else.I also question £100, if you can point me to a lawyer that will travel to a court, prepare/file and serve defence packs, sit around in a court for a couple of hours then defend a case for £100 then I will be amazed. Not sure where the £250 figure came from, maybe you can point us to the relevant part of the CPR for this ?0
