Hi ya all,
I'm looking to buy a basic model blu ray player to with my new sony TV.
Can't decide between these 2:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000W8DKKW/interactiveda3069-21
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001GCVGUY/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
I'm thinking that given I have a sony TV the sony may be a better bet. hat do you think?
Also, I don't have 1080p on my new TV, will my blu ray movies still look good?
Thanks guys.

I'm not sure on which model of blue ray player that you should purchase as i'm not to interested in this piece of equipment myself. However on the subject of picture quality please have a look at the link provided as this page gives you a more detailed investigation into blue ray vs hd dvd.

Hello,
I have just bought two weeks ago the Sony 350 Blu-ray player and have to sayit is a cracking piece of equipment and would highly recommend it after a lot of research. It is about £176(ish), but look below on teh Promotion and you also get three free blu-ray films as well as the disc that comes with it you register via your PC at Sony and you get another two eventually I believe.
Here is the link to Amazon
I have also connected to my home network and so can download BCD content via the internet as well as auto-updates to firmware!
A lovely piece of equipment indeed and sits nicely with my Sony 4500, 40" tv too...

Will your Sony TV remote control the Sony Blu-Ray player as well? If so it may be worth sticking with Sony just to avoid having more remotes. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

If you want quality, youd be better off with the 350

AliE,
It's the link I posted above to Amazon.. :j Your second link is also interesting though and agree the 250 is  piece of kit for under £200!
Oh.. and don;t buy a £25+ HDMI cable... The £7.99 one via Amazon is just perfect and excellent too! Have bought three and all connected to equipment (Xbox/V+box and Blu-Ray player) and ALL awesome!!
Here's the HDMI cable link0 -
Sorry cfbc, I skipped past without realising:idea:0

If you're not bothered what brand you have the Panasonic BD35 is supposed to be the best budget Blu-Ray player. They're around £185-£200.It's my problem, it's my problem
