Cat D is nothing really. Let's be honest it could have been a paintwork scratch which some insurance company deemed as ridiculously expensive to repair.

I agree with the poster who said sell it privately. I wouldn't even make a big fuss of the cat D, if they ask then fine, explain it, it's unlikely to put them off.

Do you even know it's a Cat D or did this bloke just say that? Get it checked for yourself.
  • it was a honda dealer i took it too i have the print out from experian that he got, ive already part exed it now just waiting to exchange cars next week. i wouldnt sell it privately now knowing what i know, i wouldnt want someone thinking of me, what i do of the dealer who sold it to me. il pay him a vist and maybe do some cat d damage to the cars on his lot, i wont tell him of course
  • i only asked by the way because the honda dealer said if he was vat registered trading standards could do something about it, and if honda had sold it without making us sign something saying we know it was cat d they would get shut down or something along those lines, i was in a bit of shock at the time some didnt take much in

False. It needs to have a vehicle identity check.

Might have been nothing at all. It gets a Cat D if it's stolen and it takes longer than 6 months to recover AFAIK.

Cat C needs an identity check. Cat D does not.

if it makes you feel any better, it probably wouldn't have made £6k at trade in.

just one of those lesssons in life I'm afraid.

have you got a report on the car you are buying or is that brand new?
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

Really, well that tells us all we need to know about you. Don't want to sell privately because you feel compelled to lie, and you also fancy some criminal damage to company property to help cover your own stupidity.
