did you check it's history?
if you didn't, or you didn't ask, then there's nothing you can do.0 -
assuming the garage knew that is
probably not though, might be wrong0 -
i didnt check no wish i had now, there was some scolding on the carpet and i asked what it was the dealer said it was fire damage as someone had flicked a cig on the convertable roof (which had been repaired) but nothing about it being wrote off, i cant believe that people are allowed to rip you off so long as you dont directly ask. its a joke0

it's not though
if you're parting with that kind of money for a car, you should be asking all the questions!0 -
A Cat D write-off shouldn't affect the value by so much. I suspect whoever wanted to buy it was trying it on. You'll have much better luck selling it privately - it may take longer, but you'll still get more than the dealer is offering.
As for the garage, if you asked, and they lied, you have comeback. If not, its tough really.0 -
yeah i should of asked if he wanted me to squel like a pig as i bent over.
not everyones clued up on the a-f catergorys of wright off's or hpi checks, i thought if a car was wrote off that was that scrap heap, not buy cheap fix and sell on fingers crossed you get away with it, it shouldnt be allowed0 -

is asking what the scorching on the carpet was "asking" or not, and when its his word against mine what differance does it make0
-
unless you have proof that you asked "has this car ever been written off?" and that the dealer answered "no" then you don't have a leg to stand on0

shame the battery ran out in my dictaphone that day0
