Hi All,

I have updated post #67 with the monthly SOA for February and also there are few more updates

Was expecting some overtime payment in Feb salary but I think that has been delayed till March.. so next month is going to be tough with all the Regular Savers and all...

I have finally started with Matched Betting... haven't placed the first bet yet but have created and deposited with Bookie and Exchange.. so hopefully I should be rich soon :rolleyes:

As per Martin's weekly mail, we have applied for a city bank Dollar Account for DH... Tomorrow is the last day so have sent it by Special Delivery (£4.60)

Also have applied for the Saffron Regular Saver ISA for both of us starting from April.. so ISA sorted for next year.. but that also means I need to vary the monthly amounts for all the other regular savers that we have.

DH is getting salary hike from next month backdated to Oct 2008. Not sure about the exact amount yet but should be around £80-100 every month
+ all the arrears from Oct last year :j

No hike or bonus for me though...:sad:

My team at work has decided to go for lunch or drinks every month - I don't really know what to do about this - extra £15 spend every month (which I can overpay towards Mortgage :money:) so I am thinking of going every other month rather than every month...;). DH thinks I have lost it

I thought about printing Supermarket vouchers for grocery shopping but the website asks for a software to install which I can't do at work (against company policy) and we don't have a printer at home :mad:.. so I guess no savings there

You don't have a printer at home MQ :eek:

Sounds like you need to Freecycle and get one for free!

I couldn't live without my printer, even though the software has gone potty and I can no longer photocopy/scan.

Thanks for this idea Floxxie.. I have never asked anything on freecycle before but will check there... It should take me a step closer to be MF

Also thanks for your pm.. I have deposited money at both the Bookie and the exchange.. Went through TCB (though nothing has tracked yet).

Have been searching Cashback site for Extrabet but can't find any...

btw.. have been using https://www.mbassist.**.uk for checking the odds... I guess you already know about this website...

I had a search for c/b for Extrabet and it seems that they have suspended c/b on the vaious sites so its just a £25 bet.

TCB - does it state that you have to place a bet at the bookies? That might be the reason why it hasn't tracked yet. My PP one at CBK took a good month to show even after the bet!

Didn't manage to get any new bookie sorted out last night. Too many fingers in too many pies at the mo but will definitely be joining you next week.

Great news about dh salary hike :T Mr TSL has had a pay freeze but at least he still has a job :j

I know what you mean about thinking twice about going out for lunch - we went out last weekend with mother, brother, nieces & nephews - I had to really catch myself as I was thinking, oh know :eek: this could be going into the mortgage ops :rolleyes:

A simple printer will probably suffice. I've got a separate scanner which runs of the PC usb so at least there isn't need for yet another mains plug in the study!

You really should have a monthly "allowance" for some enjoyment from which that £15 could be taken, in your budget, but I know it can seem frivolous to spend it. However, if it assists with team building etc it may be a good "investment"?

Thanks everyone for posting on my thread...

Stuart, I wish it was for team building... We used to have a monthly team building event which is being replaced by this - and these days everybody just seems to talk about Credit Crunch and redundencies - which worries me a lot so I am trying to avoid these events.. I would prefer spending time and money with family. I am all for team events but only if you get some value out of them.... But you are right, for the past two months since the start of this challenge, we have not had many dayouts etc. so this is something that I will be working on in March - will have to come from the Miscellaneous fund...

OH has been assigned the job of finding a cheap printer on Ebay/ Gumtree or Freecycle...

Thrifty, I am also being addicted to this challenge, I have placed my first Matched bet yesterday and then was reading about the Cheltenham Festival on the Gambling board and have dreamt of Football and horses all night... That too "horses playing Football"...

Floxxie, I just placed my first bet yesterday which was successfully matched so fingers crossed..will probably do the Extrabet one today... Will PM you...

I have done my menu planning for next 10 days so lots of batch cooking tomorrow...:eek:

Hi All,

My first qualifying bet for MBing has settled.. Now just waiting for the free bet to appear in the account. Hopefully should be few quids in once that's done...Have also created a spreadsheet for tracking all my Matched Bettings activities...
Stuart, Spreadsheet bug has caught me also... I am enjoying this :j

Though the cashback for the bookie and Betfair has not tracked yet.. will wait for 2-3 more days and then put a claim to TCB...

How did you go on with Extrabet and other bookies . I could never do Extrabet...:sad:

Will be out all day tomorrow so no more MBing tomorrow probably some next weekend...:money:

No problem. Think you have got the idea; obviously a very quick learner! You'll be able to do any of them soon.

Didn't get around to Extrab*t but did the PP reload. Have spent several hours writing long lists of all the bookies that I can do in the next week, which wasn't really good of me as I am meant to be eBaying! :rotfl:

Also had a look around the c/b sites and opted signing up to Pizza Hut on TCB and ordering pizzas with the 50% off voucher on this site. Not very MSE but I can make that money back one 1 bookie

Have found a couple more interesting sites so will PM them over.
