    (((hugs))) to you M.Q.

Hope you got enough sleep to keep going throughout the day.

Your savings are amazing and its obvious that your DH is with you 100% with this.

Amazing how leaving for work later actually works better isn't it?

Sorry to hear you didn't get the promotion and hope sleep will get back to balance soon. If you find you still wake in the night and can't get a full rest because it becomes a habit, then break the cycle. I used to go to bed about 2200 to get up at 0500 but didn't always get to sleep easily and was often waking 0230 or so thinking about work. Moving to a sleep time of 2300 or 2330 and getting up 0500 cured this i.e. I got solid blocks of sleep not a broken "night", and have been much better thanks to it. (I admit Saturday morning tends to be the lie in until 0800 though :o)
  • Thanks everybody for all the kind words..

Isn't it amazing that we all have become sort of virtual friends and do feel for each other...

Just the other day, I was speaking to DH about something when I mentioned - Floxxie also does this and he was like Well!! is she some new friend and then I realized, actually yes... This website has become like a community of likeminded people and I can open up about things which I wouldn't generally discuss with friends/ colleagues at work...

    Hugs to all :grouphug:

Well my sleep pattern is back to normal now... Not really thinking about the promotion anymore...

    Take care everyone
  • Now update for the last few days

Since one of the RS matured this month, have opened another one for £250 each month - Interest Rate 4% Net

DH's RS matures in March, but if interest rates fall further in Feb, all the remaining good deals will also go, so I have opened another for him also with opening balance £500. We would get around £4000 in Feb from a fixed account, so some of this will be used to fund the extra RS in Feb and March. Also I am getting some OverTime payment in this month's salary so this should also help.

Also have checked all our accounts today and things are not as good as I had thought earlier so have updated the January Balances Post #36 and my signature.. The balance is £45,330 instead of £45,117.. but never mind, will try to do better next month...

Oooh I'm famous. I've made it! :rotfl:

My husband knows the names of all my online friends and he knows how they are doing on their mortgage/debt repayments and how they are doing it. Not that I talk about this forum at all.

Good to hear you are feeling better.

Thankfully you didn't cite my name; that could have caused a "reaction" :D

Good to hear you are back to sleeping well, it is essential to rest both mind and body; I still do the 2300 or 2330 then up at 0500 but it works for me and I get a good solid 5.5hrs sleep. It'll be much better in late Feb once we have significantly more sunlight though, then roll on Spring when I'll wake somewhere around 0400-0430 to the sound of the dawn chorus which is great, just waiting on the alarm to ring (I love living away from a city!).

Finances all sound very good even if there was a small error previously; we're all allowed one a year - and yours was related to figures running in 2008 "I am sure" so you still have one for 2009 :D:D:D

    :D ...

Well the mistake wasn't mine actually

I had earlier asked DH what the balance on this RS was as couldn't check myself as DH had very conveniently lost his login details for that account... so I had just mentioned the balance that he "remembered"

He has finally got his password reset and ofcourse it is lesser than what he thought it was

And we have bought 2 Bedside tables this month.. Well did need them for the spare room as we do have friends staying over in that room sometime and we M&S deal was too good to miss - 2 for £75.66
  • Hi All,

Floxxie , Thanks for such a prompt and detailed reply... Must have taken you a long time to write all 4 pm's. You are a star...:A Will pm you.
  • Time for update for this week

Nothing new has happened as have been very busy at work these days... DH and I are looking into the Matched Betting thing...which should earn us some money to overpay some thing on the mortgage next month... Lets see how it goes...

We have set a grocery budget of £1000 for 2009. I will be be providing an update on that every month.

Also am planning to note energy consumption every month this year so will provide an update on 31st

Car fuel consumption has decreased this month owing to not using the car on the weekends and also avoiding busy times

so things going smoothly till now

Also I have received an overtime payment for last month :j
