Sorry haven't had time to read your full post...just the bottom bit. You might want to check out the credit card board. I have a feeling that you can transfer into his name, so you can use his Egg Money account i.e. transferring your debt onto his account.

That's great news and saves a lot of hassle for you.

PM me if you need some help with MBing..believe you me the hardest step is placing the first two bets! :rotfl:(and don't forget any possible cashback)

Re Abbey Zero: once your stoozing is over don't close the account. It's ideal for using when you go to India. Check out Martins article about going abraod.

And yes please do post monthly updates on your mortgage and saving totals. Anything to keep me motivated :j

  • Hi All,

I haven't provided any update this week.. well 2 reasons for that...

    1. Very busy due to work
    2. I have started doing the daily clicks to earn some extra cash and it is taking me much longer than others...

I have done it religiously for 4 days (Monday to Thursday) and I was so tired on Friday that I actually went to bed just after coming back from work and actually slept till 10 am the next day (a total of 16 hrs  )

Floxxie, Thanks for the offer... :A DH hasn't even bothered to take a printout of the guide let alone read it.. Why can't men show some committment towards a goal... I am sure we will have some questions once we go through the guides..

I am right now preparing the update for our Finances for January...

    Hi MQ,

I used to do daily clicks but it really isn't worth the time and energy especially as many of them have now dropped their payout and a lot don't pay out. You would be better:
    1) signing up for offers available on cashback sites and doing a click or two whilst you are on the site.
    2) MBing
    3) Survey sites - but only a couple as most of them are the same as daily clicks!
    4) B*ngo scratchcards

PM me if you want further details as I could take over your thread going through things!

P.S. Your outstanding mortgage and savings are looking great.

  • Hello everybody....

I thought I would provide an update tonight because of the following reason

    1. The much awaited promotion that I was expecting to get at work is being given to someone else... so I am gutted... and need to divert my mind away from this... Also not able to sleep...

    Right - Here I go...

    (1) 6.4% Regular Saver has matured today with the new total standing at £6952. I have added some money out of the stoozed pot to this and now £8000 will be fixed at 3.72%(Net) tomorrow.

We didn't fix the stoozed(£5000) earlier as it seems we may have to send around £4000 to India next week. We are trying for other alternatives as £ is really weak right now so not a great idea to convert but still we can't take the risk of fixing everything in case we do have to send it.

So I have updated post #36

Apart from this, I have to open another Regular Saver as we would have spare £250 now because of the matured Regular Saver. The best rate that I can get is 4%(net) so I am applying for this tomorrow.

    (2) I have done my first overpayment to the mortgage yesterday of £21.23...:j so the balance now stands at £104486.15 and which also means that my current account stand at £0.00
    (3) I have got an oppertunity of some overtime this saturday.. Nothing major - just couple of hrs... but then every little helps :money:

    (4) I have realized today that outstanding balance on one of my 0% cards is actually £2,797.40 instead of £2700

    so have updated my signature...

Another thing - we got our car filled on 5th Jan. Spent £30.76 and till now we haven't had to refill it..total of 16 days... and we take it to work daily(17 miles round trip).. :j

The small changes that we have done are

    - Not using the car at all during the weekends.. Good for environment and a little exercise is always good for health
    - not leaving for work between 8 and 8:45 as there are really bad traffic jams at this time.. so we leave after 8:45 and it takes us less time to reach work and also saves on fuel
  • Thanks Floxxie.. I will send you a pm this weekend.. I have been doing OnePoll daily though £40 still seems very far away

    Hi MQ,

Looking at the time of your post, you really aren't sleeping are you? Sorry things on the work front haven't quite worked to plan but I'm sure something better will happen.

Feel free to PM me this weekend.
