You don't need to worry about Rubella as you are tested for immunity when pregnant.

The folic acid is the most important bit. And just be aware that if you are rhesus negative (blood type), then you have to have two anti-D jabs during pregnancy and one once you have delivered.

If you have no health issues or concerns, then take your folic acid and good luck!

If you are rhesus negative they should keep you advised of things. I did not get a anti D jab after delivery cause my daughter was the same blood type - you only get this if child is different blood but do not panic.

Good luck in trying and have fun.

  • Hi Lynn,

I am DH both are rhesus positive...

    Floxxie,

That explains why my GP didn't mention the Rubella Anti Jab

And a big thanks to everybody for all the advice and explanations

I don't want to tell family and friends before I actually get pregnant as my sis and mom will be querying about this everytime they see me and I think this is going to really stress me out if it takes few months for me to conceive...

Most people take a lot longer than a few months...so don't get too stressed about things. ;)

Look forward to hearing the good news, when you're ready :rotfl:

Just try to have fun at the moment and do not think about it cause it may happen quicker when you are not thinking about it. I did not tell my husband when we were trying as he would be too stressed out and fell pregnant really quickly.

I came back from a long business trip from South East Asia to "start trying"; OH was pregnant within 10 days leaving me asking "what about the few months you said it would take, allowing me get my head around the concept?" :rotfl:

(However we were very fortunate in that respect and not everyone is. The premature birth 2months early and recommendation not to have a second perhaps balance the rapidity of falling pregnant?)

Just relax, try to have fun "trying" (not too big a challenge I would suggest!) and what will be, will be. Don't put any specific date/duration in mind because that will lead to stress as Lynn notes. Sincere best wishes to you both.

Oh, can it take such a long time???

Well, now that I know I won't be stressed if it takes longer.

Most of my friends got pregnant within a few months of trying..

    Thanks

  • On the Financial side of things, DH should get a small salary hike soon. Not sure exactly how much yet but I think it would be 4-5 %. He will get that in November's Salary :j

I have done a bit of MB today and am going out now as it is sunny here :j

Still have to put Stuff on Ebay - probably tomorrow
