  • I have News....

We were thinking of havings kids after being MF, but now that I will be 30 soon, we have been thinking that it is about right time as there may be complications later. So once we get back from India, we will be trying for a baby.

Only issue is that since we won't be MF, I can not just leave my job. So I am thinking for going Part Time initially and then later be a SAHM altogether. The plans may change later but this is what we have decided atm.

And who knows, we may be MF if we try harder!!

Ooh how exciting MQ! As you know I manage to pay off much more not working than I did when I was working so you'll be absolutely fine. (make sure you are taking folic acid before you start trying)

Like you, I am too tired/demotivated to do much of anything at present but the new year will be my motivation; a new start.

Best wishes with the intention to start a family. In addition to Floxxie's excellent comment, do check you actually have rubella immunity. I know all girls are vaccinated in their teens but it doesn't mean you have built up immunity (my OH hadn't so she had additional jab and check before we tried).

Regarding working/part-time/SAHM do consider the long term career benefits (and mental stimulation) that part-time work can bring. In addition your child will gain much from social interaction at nursery, a curriculum based learning environment and familiarity with other adults (ideal for when they start school). It also of course assists a bit on the income to the household and can massively influence the disposable income available.

    Kind regards
    Stuart

  • Thank to everyone for the wishes

I will be buying Folic Acid tomorrow.

Thanks for the Rubella Tip, Will book an appointment for that tomorrow.

Is there anything else that I need to be sure of? I had discussed this with my GP few months back during a routine checkup but he never mentioned anything about the Rubella jab.

  • Regarding the MFW and MSE plans in general, I have read quite a lot MFW Diaries this weekend for motivation and inspiration and I think I am back on track.

Have also started with William Hill BOGOFs. Will be doing couple of more bookies this weekend.

Also had a scan thorugh the freebie board today and have ordered few free samples.

The stuff that I had to ebay is still in the spare room staring at me whenever I enter that room, so hopefully will get to that this weekend.

Will keep the diary updated with my progress

You don't need to worry about Rubella as you are tested for immunity when pregnant.

The folic acid is the most important bit. And just be aware that if you are rhesus negative (blood type), then you have to have two anti-D jabs during pregnancy and one once you have delivered.

If you have no health issues or concerns, then take your folic acid and good luck!
