Amazon have the 120 GB hard drive for £88.

If he gets the Arcade version, he should also buy a component video or HDMI cable for it (depending on what connections your TV has), as it only comes with a composite video cable with won't display an HD picture.

We`ve just got a normal bog standard oldish tv(an can`t see us getting a HD unless I win one),can you connect xbox360 with scart leads just like the old xbox?
Also he`s got loads of original xbox games, can these be played on the 360?
    Thanks:beer:

    yup scart works fine
models with a hard drive can play most xbox 1 games
its done by software so can be a bit glitchy
the 360 upscales the graphics though

    thats right
    it needs the hard drive
because M$ dropped Nvidia for the graphics chipset,Nvidia blocked M$ from adding in hardware backwards compatibility
something Sony slated M$ for,up till the point they dropped hardware backwards compatibility!

  • This thread is now a year old, so I presume the OP has long since bought the Xbox.

Mentioned this in an earlier post, but beware of second hand Xbox consoles that have been chipped by keen gamers. These are now banned from online gaming!
