hi floxxie - if you go onto dooyoo there are lots of different items to review - I find doing movies the easiest and hubby like doing video games. It's 50p per review and I find one takes me 10 - 15 mins. There's another site called comparedbyus which pays slightly higher but as its an american site I struggle to find products I'm familiar with. The only trouble with it is that I get a really bad back and shoulder typing and so can only do it for about an hour at a time, so hubby picks up the slack when he's quiet at work or whenever.
He's hoping to make an extra £100 a month this way.

I'm sorry, but you'll never earn a second income from places like Dooyoo. It's a place where you can write reviews and find real-world consumer's opinions and experiences on a range of products and services and, if you're so inclined, meet new people. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say that Dooyoo members are becoming increasingly frustrated by new members who think Dooyoo is a viable income and leech from the site.

For those interested in Dooyoo, take a look at this thread:

Also, there's a helpful post here:

And for those that want to see first hand what happens when people get greedy and try to earn lots of money from sites such as Dooyoo, then look at what happened to new site, comparedby.us:

    Camp Freddy,

I've used the site for many years to get feedback on items prior to purchase but I have made the decision to put some feedback on my experiences. I have better things to do than overload the site with crap and if I remember correctly Roxie is a writer, so her reviews aren't going to be rubbish.
Have seen what has happened with utter rubbish being added to the site but that's for Dooyoo to deal with; I appreciate that you are trying to keep quick earners off the site but then I guess that has always been a problem to sites that give a cash incentive.

  • Being able to string a few words together does not mean you can write consumer reviews, though. Some supposedly professional writers have struggled on Dooyoo and Ciao over the years, thinking that their status alone made them something special.

Irrespective of how good you are, you're never going to consistently earn a second income from site such as these. £100 per month? If you're a writer, then try submitting your work elsewhere... it'll definitely pay better.

Am having to pass the baton completely to hubby re reviewing as my damn back has been a nightmare!

Camp Freddie, thanks for the info but you seem to be jumping to conclusions. I wasn't intending to clutter the site with poor reviews.

I never said that... my point was that it's nigh on impossible to make £100 per month on Dooyoo. And I'd even go so far as to say that it's impossible to make £100 regularly on Dooyoo.

Ok, well thanks for the info. Hubby's going to continue with it as and when he has time so time will tell. Every little helps though - that seems to be my buzz word at the moment!
Unfortunately, as the kitchen fitters are back :( We're having to spend money on takeaways and eating out again. Hubby is bringing back fish and chips tonight - which I'm sure would be a joy to some people but I'm not a fan - not even a fan of takeaways in general so its not really even a treat - just something to spend money on.
Am struggling with my money conscience with regard to the babies buggy too. The one that I really really want costs £400 whereas I could get one that ticks all the boxes for £200. I should go for the £200 one but I just keep thinking that I'll be using it for 3 years and really want the other one -ooooh what to do??
Hubbys mum was working last weekend so we're going up next weekend now. Also have got to get my hospital bag ready as am going in next week for a procedure that could result in the need for emergency c section so have to be prepared just in case. Hubby really needs to crack on with the nursery - its taken him 3 weeks to paint the little bedroom - well, its not even finished yet! The furniture is being delivered this week - luckily already paid for. But the bedding etc still needs getting. A bit gutted that we're missing out of the £190 grant that they're giving to all expectant parents now - it starts for babies due from April. Oh well, nothing we can do about that!

    Hi Roxie,

What buggies are you looking at?

I currently have three - a Mama and Papas convertible, a Phil & Teds double buggy and a Maclaren light-weight fold up one. My favourite is the M&Ps. I have friends who have been through five or more. No suggestions from me - it really depends where/when you are going to use it and for how long.

Hope it goes ok in hospital next week.

Best wishes for the hospital procedure and the kitchen completion.

(I'll not go into detail on our problems once the kitchen fitter went bankrupt part-way through fitting, other than to say do hold back as much cash as possible until you are totally satisfied, or in our case, all of the doors etc had been made and delivered!)

Hi floxxie - I;m looking at the mamas and papas luna but really really want a bugaboo bee. Main tick boxes are that it's small to store and lightweight cos of my back probs but also can be used from birth. Dont want one with a bulky seperate carry cot and want it to be able to fold down in one piece without taking seat off. Both tick the boxes, though the bee is slightly smaller and lighter and I'm a sucker for labels and just want one!
Thanks stuart - sorry to hear of your kitchen nightmare - it seems everyone who I speak to has one! This has been a total pain thus far - ie they promising it'd be done before xmas but lo and behold I was left for 3 weeks with a half finsihed kitchen - plus a range of other faults. They've rectified the faults now and are cracking on - I'm hopeful they'll be out of here by the end of the week as i really dont like having them in the house when I'm home all day meant to be getting r and r. I say meant to be as with 2 small children it doesnt always work like that but i would be alot easier without builders trailing through the house and asking me questions that I dont know the anser to ie wheres the stopcock lol - I really should get a clue!
hi daisy - nice to see you too! Great sig - i cant wait till we 'only' have 20K owing!!
