Kitchen fitters coming this monday - booo - cant wait till its all finshed and they've gone for good!
Being very good today as am 'recycling' a xmas toy for a birthday party the boys are going to later. It's something that I know they'll play with once then lose interest in so whats the harm - as long as the original gift giver doesnt find out!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Hi Roxie
Have you been on debt free wannabe and old style boards? I know you're not in debt, but it's well worth reading through some of the posts on there as people have great ideas for cutting down and saving money. People post up SOAs and get loads of tips. I've saved hundreds of pounds since I started reading last summer.
And the old style board has loads of great tips for shopping and cooking cheaply. So far I've cut down my weekly shopping budget from £90 a week (that was just 2 adults
oops) to £40 a week. Other people spend less than I do, but it's a work in progress
Good luck on your MFW journey. I'm lurking at the moment on this thread because I'm still a debt-free wannabe unfortunately!0 -
Hi jenny - yep I lurk on the DFW board - find the old styling abit more of of a mystery I'm afraid.
Got hubby on board doing some reviewing. I'm finding doing something like that which is alot of effort for very little money, stops us from wasting money if you see what I mean - so benefits twofold!
Also cancelled the sky movies and took up a 3 month free lovefilm trial instead
All in all we be happy to keep it up and hopefully buy the extra baby things we need this month - most expensive being a pram - ready to start overpayments in Feb.
Unfortunately OH wants to travel up to his mums this weekend to see her new dog lol. We were only up there at xmas and its £20 petrol but because its money spent on petrol he doesnt really see it as money. Not that I begrudge visiting but its the little things like that that can add up to hundreds a month without even realising it!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

checked the bank statement yesterday and our mort payment has come down from 325 to 250
And its due to come down to £225 so thats all good as it means hopefully we can pay an extra £100 come february - meaning a £600 overpayment. MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Just listed a few bits on ebay - nothing high value but every bit helps right? Also, hubby has got reviewing total to £25

So new jan o/payment pot
£25 reviewing
£40 saved on birthday gift
£100 mort payment reduction
total £165

Hi Roxie,
I'm intrigued - what are you reviewing?
FloxxieMortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
hi floxxie - if you go onto dooyoo there are lots of different items to review - I find doing movies the easiest and hubby like doing video games. It's 50p per review and I find one takes me 10 - 15 mins. There's another site called comparedbyus which pays slightly higher but as its an american site I struggle to find products I'm familiar with. The only trouble with it is that I get a really bad back and shoulder typing and so can only do it for about an hour at a time, so hubby picks up the slack when he's quiet at work or whenever.
He's hoping to make an extra £100 a month this way.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Thanks Roxie,
I have this on my list to sign up to so will be doing this tomorrow. Good idea about getting OH to review as well - I could get my OH to review everything I don't!
Don't think I could do much longer than an hour myself.
