Exactly what is La Redoute's definition of 7 -10 days.

I recently placed an order for some clothes with my catalogue La redoute. I am going on a day out, and I needed some jeans as my old ones are past wearing.
I am going on Saturday.
I ordered them on 9th Jan 2006 and was told my order should be with me in 7-10 days.
Now, going from my other catalogue, they usually take about 4 days max, so not having received it today (18th), I phoned them a bit concerned.
They are now saying that I should have the order by 26th Jan!
Could someone please explain how they have worked this out to be 7 - 10 days?!
I got them from my catalogue as I am at work, but looks like I am going to have to go for a mad dash into town tomorrow anyway for a pair of jeans. They are getting sent back. In less than "7-10" days.

Is 7 - 10 days, working days?
When ordering stuff you should always leave enough time to get them before you need them anyway.Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Well, I did.
They did not state working days either on the phone, or in the catalogue, when I look now.
7 days would have been monday. 10 days will be tomorrow.
So I left enough time, using their guidelines......Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I have found their delivery to be incredibly slow, compared to Littlewoods et al. They usually email you when the goods have been dispatched.

I would have thought, ordering on 9/01, the first day would be the 10th, Mon the 23/01 would be the 10th day - they could be picked up by close of bussiness that day and sent by carrier at the standard 3 day del terms which would take you to the 26th for receipt by you.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Well, they sent me an email on 12th to say the items had been dispatched to the courier.
But the point is, that I was told 7 - 10 days from the day I called. Not 7 -10 working days.
In fact, the 26th would be 13 working days.
it's just I wish they would give you a realistic expectation of when you are to receive the items. every other catalogue gives you an exact date to receive items
I called them about this.
Aparently the "couriers" they use, are not a courier company, but just agents in the local area, who do not work full time!!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I would email them again but if you really want items for a specific occassion always order them well in advance or buy in a shopWeight Loss - 102lb0

The information given on their site states ''7-10 working days''. It then goes on to advise of possible delays as the goods are shipped from France.
Sorry if this isn't what you want to hear.

Not at all! Clear information is all I wanted!!! Thank you.
well,
I got my goods.
Yesterday.
SUNDAY. So the working days thing is a joke!
No, I don't have a problem with that, as that does fall well within the 7 -10 working days. But the 26th Jan would have been 13 working days, and I asked the lady on the phone how long it would take, and she said 10 days maximum.
But I got them
But compared to what they did next, this was nothing.
I came home and there was a card through my door for the items delivered.
Now I have specified to La redoute previously that if I am not in, to give the goods to my neighbour.
But instead they just threw it over the fence (they would have to throw it, as the fence is pretty tall.) And to cap it all off it was raining, so the bag was covered in mud from being thrown into the flowerbed.
La Redoute can go jump for any more business from me.
Their service is not only slow and their delivery policy unclear. It also seems their delivery staff have no brains in their empty little heads either.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I have always found laredoute to be increadibly slow, but recently they have taken the P***, i placed an order over the internet on the 19th january, then i got an e-mail saying the discount code i used was no longer available. I placed the order again with a different (valid) code.
i ring them today and the customer services advisor tells me they havent recieved payment??? i paid by card which has more than sufficient funds.
i dont understand what went wrong? and how come i never got a e-mail telling me this. i waited more than ten days and e-mailed them twice and still no answers.
They have also changed their policy concerning discount codes. They can only be used against full price items???
la redoute have gone down in my books, i never place orders over the phone because their staff are inept and ill-trained. (GGRrrrrr)
right, rant over.... i need to place an order with lxdirect to cheer myself up after all that... Codes anyone??
