You sound like a lovely landlord - very professional.

If only all were like you.

I'd jump at the opportunity if the offer presented itself! My currently letting agency are abysmal!

Face to face meeting would be good but as my landlord is apparently in Spain (does have a UK address shown in the AST contract), that might prove tricky.

  • Just a quick update on this thread. I sent a letter to the tenant over 3 weeks ago and not heard anything, safe to say he is happy and they are doing a good job I guess, at least I tried.

Thanks for all the advice on this one.

Just a thought, but did you include an email address for the tenant to respond to in the letter? It's just that as a tenant, while I would be quite happy to let you know my impression of the LA, I would much rather bash out a quick email rather than having the hassle of writing out a letter, finding envelopes, stamps, posting etc.

BTW, just read the thread, and I think you are doing the right thing.

I own a small property in a different city and have no idea who is living there, i also have no idea how effective my letting agent is, I mean in terms of customer service etc

As a tenant would you respond to a letter from your landlord asking for your comments tec about the letting agent.

I have no idea if they are doing a good job, yes the rent is being paid every month but the contract is up in a few months. If they are doing a bad job it maybe the difference between the tenant resigning and leaving.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks.

    Hell yes!
I hate the fact that my LA acts as a barrier between the landlord & I, there is lots of passing the buck by the LA
