My third no spend for the month. I was so intent on having a no spend day that i left the car at home and walked the two miles into town this evening so i wouldn't have to pay parking costs and walked back again. At least it was free exercise and earned me my other NSD!:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Hiya - I'm a little late to join in, but would like to give this one a go, please! Can you put me down for 7 NSD's. I won't be counting bill payments or petrol.

Can I just ask folks whether you class a day when you buy groceries as an NSD? I know it's up to me how I do it but do most of you class it as a spend day if you just spend your money on frivolities (for want of a better word!) I bought some vitamins on Saturday that strictly speaking we didn't really need so I called that a spend day, but yesterday I bought milk and ketchup and didn't consider that a spend day. What do you all think? Am I doing it right?
 Hiya honeybun,
People have different lifestyles and propensities to "fudge" so they have different parameters for the challenge.
What I always say is, if you don't have an issue with the amount of money you spend on groceries, or the number of times you seem to have to visist a supermarket every month, but it's other types of spending that you'd like to reduce then don't count it if you don't want to.
I'm always tempted to class bottles of wine, bars of chocolate, clothes, DVDs, books, or CDs as "Groceries" if I buy them at the same time as I buy actual groceries, (or in any shop that sells groceries if they are a bargain) so it's best for me if I just count it every time I open my purse cos otherwise I can't be trusted!
Some challengers in the past didn't count spends under 50p so long as there was only *one* spend a day which alowed them to keep their daily chocolate monsterfed and still get some NSDs.
I think it's always a good idea to declare in public how you're doing it - which is why we get those long posts from me sometimes about how I don't really have anything to spend on because of my terribly dull lifestyle.
So anyway.. still under the duvet so NSD number 5 on day number 5 for me.
