X-Type Jags Diesels

Anyone got any views on X type Jags in regards to using one day to day?
I have to give back my work Passat soon, and x-types seems to be pretty good value. IE its possible to get a 05 plate witha round 60K for 5-6 grand.

I have heard different things about jags, on teh one hand I know people who have bought XKRs and been nothing but pain. On the other hand people say the X type is really a ford modeo, and as such such be pretty well reliable and using the same parts not be outrage price wise to fix when things go wrong

From a female point of view - I like them!

We get quite a few in and I've not been gobsmacked re prices of parts! And I do get gobsmacked at times, I can tell you!

    I'd say, get one .. :D

  • I find them very hateful things.

To the point where I could happily push them all into the Manchester Ship Canal near where I work...

I still buy and sell them as people seem to like them, but from a dealers point of view they are bleedin awful...

i have had one for 5 months now and previously had a passatt tdi, there is a lot less rear leg room than the passatt, and where as my passat averaged about 50mpg on all trips, the jag is returning about 43mpg,reliabilty wise touch wood it has been great, the s type diesels are also good value at the moment,my brother sold an 04 reg 2.7diesel with 60,000 miles on it to the trade for £6500 last week ,i thought that was a hell of a bargain.

the other thing is although the jag cost less than the passat everyone thinks i am on the fiddle(which of course i am),My dad also bought a 2.2d estate and that has been fautless as well
