Hidden charges for T-Mobile customers...

My T Mobile contract ends on Tuesday. Currently I have no phone with them as my Nolia died and I am using the £2.88 Motorola phone mentioned on MSE recently. So I really could do with a new decent phone. My current contract is Flext 30 with either 700 minutes or 1400 texts. It costs me £25.53 less £10.21 loyalty discount from my monthly line rental, so a total of £15.32 per month. Not sure if I could get that again this time.
I have analysed my usage over the last 12 months and actually don't need more than 300 minutes and 100 texts.
Any advice on a good plan for me - and a good phone?
Also, I want to keep my number. If I took a T Mobile plan but through another provider, such as onemobile.com, or if I took my new contract with T Mobile but through Quidco, can I still keep my number?
Thanks

You can only keep your number if you go through the upgrade process. If you open a new acc with another dealer or even T direct they won't let you move your number. This is called a backdoor upgrade (getting a new customer deal) and isn't allowed on any of the networks.0

ive just finished with t mobile, they also charge for calling customer services 25p a call i was on the solus, got me pac code and gone on asda pay as you go, 8 pence a minute any network 4 pence a text.
If you want free text and calls i would go o2 simplicity customer services and voicemail is free.
gone are the days of being stuck in 12 month contracts let alone 18 months:eek:I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. some plans charge for CS calls, solo and payg as they are trying to do self service through my t-mobile etc. mostly anyother tarriff is free calls. T-mobile wont have a deal to suit everyone, just like the other networks wont for everyone else as well, just one of these things.
voicemail I would have liked to have kept free right enough, and the upgrades a bit better, but can't have everything

I have had my t mobile account for 3 years its up for renual again end of month
I am on flex 35 which in the 1st 18month contract i got a discount making my montly cost 27, when it came up for another 18 months i got a loyalty discount bringing cost down to £21 a month
went to shop yesterday to see what deal offer i would get, I dont want a new phone my trusty old nokia 8210 is still going the distance, to be honest nothing, if i didnt renew the contract my billing would go back up to £27 a month, I am using on average around 340 mins and 200 texts,
They did offer me the solo 15 deal, which is for £15 a month you get 350 mins and unlimited texts.
As I am a virgin media customer I can get 300mins and 500 texts for £12 a month, I did ask if t mobile could tweek me a deal or bring it down to the £12 a month like virgin, got told no.
Phoned customer services to cancel the contract, again they did have a look to see if they could do anything for me but they said that was the best they could offer.
Called them back today to ask about the PAC code so i could take my number with me, got told to call back end of month as i could then get the code for free.
For me the best deal will be with virgin 300mins, 500 texts for £12 this is £15 a month if you are not a virgin customer.
I hoped to get a deal from t mobile but although they did try , they said that was the best they could do0 -
If you are paying just over £15 a month for your t mobile contract , thats not bad for the usage you are getting Lynne0

fifer 73 - If you use approx 340mins each month, what do you normally use it for? calls to virgin customers? other networks? landlines?
If it's other networks and you use 40 more minutes a month that the plan allows it will cost you another £16 ontop of your bill.
Landlines and virgin mobiles it would be approx £2.50 (but that was if you were using the 40mins the same day, as it's 15p pm for the first 5mins of the day, then 5p pm after.
So make sure you keep an eye on how much your using a month if your calling other networks otherwise you'll be paying alot more than £12

The whole free VM thing was a system error, which has now been fixed, you will be charged for VM0

Worked at both T-mob L+R and T-mob Customer Service and they told us it was a glitch within the system that was now fixed0
