Thanks everyone for all the links - I received a Sony reader for Christmas. I have downloaded a couple of books from the library successfully having downloaded adobe and overdrive but wondered what I would need calibre for? Is it for other formats or just easier?

Brilliant - I am a hertfordshire resident (albeit one without a library card as yet). I'd never have thought you could borrow ebooks from the library - Thanks a million :T

That's wonderful news. :j My own public libraries don't do e-books yet so it will be terrific if I can use those libraries. Than you for posting that.:T

I managed to join Herts library so look forward to using that. I also found Kent libraries do ebooks and I'm already a member there. Found a good few last night.

If you search online, you can even find easy ways to get these epub books onto a Kindle.

not impressed - greenwich doesn't do e-book loans. that's not very considered of them.
