found a stone in my M&S party food

:eek: went to my local M&S today to purchase the deal 3 boxes of party food and a bottle of Cava for a tenna. i cooked some of the party food tonight for the children and found whilst eating the cheese and tomato fritters something hard like a stone inside my mouth. i retrieved the stone and it looked like a piece of gravel. i am not happy at all i thought that M&S were one of the top food retailers obviously not. i am going to take the stone back tomorrow so will let you know what happens.

Poor you! I hope you get a good response tomorrow - you really should. It looks as though there is a breach of the General Food Regulations 2004, through a potential breach of Article 14 of Regulation (EC) 178/2002.

MIMI I read your thread on the other board and you came in for some flack.

I don't think M&S are any different from any other supermarket that you may shop in (you pay for them makin the dishes for you) but with regards to what you found in your product personally I think you should take the product back with the offending 'gravel' and they will probably refund but do not expect or want more.

thanks, im not expecting compensation but am wondering how the hell it got into the food, as for the flack there are some idiots on here that probably have got nothing else to do.

If I were you I'd steer clear of labelling anyone as an idiot until you can at least learn how to construct a sentence properly, with correct spelling and capitalisation. At least you managed to turn off your Caps Lock key.

Hi Mimi, Yes I agree you should take the product back, generally food manufacturuers have strict food hygiene regulations where food is produced but I guess occasionally something like this happens, they should be more than happy to refund you and give you another of the product for free (for the inconvenience of having to go back!)

A similar experience happened to me a while ago. I found quite a big bit of hard plastic in a children meal at M&S.

I wrote to them enclosing the piece of plastic and they send me a nice letter apologising bla, bla, bla and £15 vouchers.
