Wedding dress

I have got a wedding dress
but it is not as long as I thought. Its a brand new Monsoon silk chiffon dress, really lovely layered effect, with a fitted bodice. I got it for a bargain price (dont want to say in case my intended sees this!) It goes down to mid-calf. Do I lengthen it, wear some sort of underskirt or keep it as it is? I have got decent legs, and i wanted to be barefoot in the wedding ceremony:)
bTW I have been married before but never had a 'proper' white dress before (this is cream but you know what I mean)
Any ideas?

If you like it keep it as it is. If you are unsure in any way why not pin some material to it and see what it might look like then you can un pin it if it doesnt look that great after all!Weight Loss - 102lb0

I'd say that so long as the skirt doesn't look like it should touch the floor (ie like one of those meringues say) then fine! It'll look especially good if you are going to be barefoot. I'm purposely going for a calf length dress as I want to show my shoes off! (and it saves on another metre of fabric for the train!)Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94

September. I don't want shoes because I LOVE shoes and I can't see myself loving a pair of white/cream shoes.
It is not a meringue I must say, although DD wanted me to have a meringue! What I am thinking of is getting a longer underskirt then I can take that off so it's easier to dance in the evening!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

If you're happy with it how it is keep it that way. Sometimes once you start altering/adding things can go wrong. If you don't like cream/white shoes, what about a pair of strappy sandals? What were you going to put on your feet to protect your tootsies from other not so elegant dancers wayward feet?0

Me too and I have a shorter length dress (calf length) but I'm dammed if I'm goingto miss out on a pair of shoes! so i'm going to hit the high street and look for some coloured satin shoes in something like oyster or caramel or blue hmm. yummyDebt Oct 2005: £32,692.94
