Is CSA1 an exact science? (if so where can I get a copy of the formula) -merged-

you would have at least had your housing costs taken into account for your ongoing maintenance.

There is no ongoing maintenance, the CSA assessment has ended when I claimed JSA.
The CSA is unjust, oppressive and discriminates men. If you tell me otherwise then 2 and 2 is 5, and you have a Ph.D in rendering bovine fecal matter.

I was talking liability - for future reference

Can you prove that the landlord is your uncle?

Yes but Im not sure that would benefit me. The CSA will class him a relative and I will be classed a non dependant.

Since i have paid no rent for over a year I dont think he will be very forthcoming in writing to the CSA to confirm his private address. He is now in his 80's and becoming reclusive. I have asked him for it before but he says send them the tenancy agreement - which the CSA has rejected - I think because our surnames are the same and the CSA assumed me a non dependant.

If I return to work, I was hoping for a completely new assesment based on new circumstances - which will be living as cohabitees and a child.

Returning to driving busses under the current CSA position is ruled out because JSA provides better money.

Quietly I would prefer to have my farm back in all its former glory. Lawyers appointed by my business insurer are in the advanced stages of achieveing that in the High Court, its been 18 months since they started work. Nothing to do with the CSA but it was they who originally picked up on the CSA irregularities last last year. Bus driving was only a stop-gap until lawyers complete.

But you haven't paid any rent anyway? So you aren't any worse off then are you?

Its all accrued up in arrears, with JSA I am much better off because the arrears accrual is halted and it starts getting paid off, albiet very slowly. I am negotiating council tax, but most of that is expected to be written off because I have been charged on the basis of being the sole occupier. Its a house conversion.

Is your uncle taking you to court for arrears of rent?

Don't want to sound dim here but what is a notification and when should I receive it?

I dont know how rent arrears impacts the CSA. It has always asserted its debt takes priority over everything.

Can you expand a little more on what you are trying to establish?

Moth, I'm trying to establish why you are so hell bent on getting your housing costs allowed against your income when in fact, you aren't actually paying any. If your uncle was taking you to court for arrears, then I could sympathise a bit, but as it stands, it seems that you are trying to reduce your CSA assessment by taking housing costs off which you aren't paying.
