On broadband but no way of connecting the Win95 PC as have USB modem. Planning to get a router, but don't think that will help anyway.
I've checked out Link Maven (the brigsoft thing mentioned) and says will work with Win95 and XP so let's see.0 -
If you bought a router, not only would it protect from nasties on the internet (hardware firewall), but it would allow you to network the 2 PC's together, use both on the internet at the same time, and transfer files whenever you wanted. They are worth the £50-£60, if you can afford it.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Finally got the transfer completed using lmav as per albertross' suggestion. It was more work than I expected because the connection kept cutting out (parallel laplink cable) which is not something I had experienced with laplink in the past, and it didn't like it when I asked it to copy 3000 files, so I had to do the copy in stages. Lmav hung a few times requiring me to log off and then on again before I could restart properly, but I got the transfer complete using only 8 of my free 25 trial sessions. Not bad for a freebie! I recommend it. And yes it did work on both Win 95 and XP.
Thanks albertross.0
