    Hi all
Not been comping for ages due to new job and busy schedule. Things should be quieter now so I am hoping to get back into the comping again. Has anyone noticed a reduction in comps/prizes because of the downturn?

we went in to woolworths christchurch store this morning, got 24 bottles of coke for £5 12 bottles of iron bru for £1.80 and the biggest heaviest bag of pick and mix for £1. we also got some cds for £1 each, sterophonics, mark ronson, and an indie double complication album that mr divadee wanted

The bargain for us was, i was looking at the cards and said to mr divadee i would take them all off them for a fiver, when i heard behind me 'ok then you are on' i jumped out of my skin as the manager was behind me and had started clearing the card displays into a basket for me to have for a fiver  :j

me and my mum are just sorting them out now and i have in total 236 cards!! approx 50ish will be recycled into new cards (as my mum does card making) or chucked so a total 186 approx cards will be used for a fiver.

On the way out i did put £5 in the collection box for the staff, i just felt so bad!!

Divadee what a bargain...They will be great for your mom...I do card making and I bet she'll be doing some Decoupage with them;). My OH went up there yesterday as he was after some gloves for work..Got 2 pairs 50p each pair and some Play dough for the LO, some colouring pens and felts and an umbrella for her. He said its completely emptied. It's a real shame cause when I was a kid we used to spend our pocket money in Woolworths. This is down to all the supermarkets ..Whatever you want now from food to beds you can get it at Asda , Tesco and alike...Real shame.

its aweful for the staff. they have been told to sell everything, even down to the staff lockers, i do hope that this is not what 2009 is going to be, all doom and gloom, I dont remember the last recession to be like this,
