Bella - We have a radiator in every room that are on low every day since november. Told mum it would make much more sense to dry all clothes on radiators seeing as they're on anyway...but they ain't having any of it!

Sorry to but into the conversation but I was wondering how you keep up with the convo on this thread. Do u all have it set to automatic refresh or hit F5 frequently? Or is there a secret trick?

we pay gas and electric on dd and pay for gas £52 a month and £30 for electric. I leave heating on from 5am to 9pm on 20 degrees.
We get a statement either upping it or bringing it down based on our yearly consumption, we are with British gas for both as it gave us a lower bill for having duel fuel bills with them xxx

Splodz that grindtv link was just fab, sent it to bro as he's a bike nut.:T

Been reading all the posts on the gas and elec bills, some are quite scary. Don't have gas in the village where i am so its all electric and that means night storeage heating which i'm still trying to master. House is old and walls leak heat like a sieve, ceilings are over 3.5 meters high and that takes ages to heat a room but the extra loft insulation i put in this year has helped a bit.

cathyj sounds like you all like DIY, even your sister

Sally Ditto, my dads the worse he will buy something today and another tomorrow as he thought it was a great bargin when he didn't need it in the first place:D

But they did agree that the free loft insulation i got for them through british gas for pensioners this year was a good move, so i think they appreciate it really:j
