I'm going out NYE - DS and I are off to a party at my friend's (and staying over) I always spend NYE with her, sometimes she's been single sometimes I have but these days it's usually us, her OH and all of our kids and anyone else who drops by. Nothing exciting karaoke, guitar hero etc and lots of laughs, gone are the up to four in the morning days though...

I hate new years eve and in my early 20's took huge pride in staying in

but then I got sucked in to going out (boyfriends, ex boyfriends, chicken in a basket that literally was chicken in a basket, but the menu was written in french so we all thought it was dead posh:rotfl: all appalling nights out!).

I went out last year to a house party and had a good time, but its not on this year and everyone is away or in with OH. and I am so single it is n't funny!

and Bunny we'd better have a party on here, you lot and a bottle of vodka are my evening!!

thank you for making me feel better xxxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

  • out on NYE with DH to a bar, we had a massive row and I ended up sitting in a freezing car crying like a loser.

    Ah, happy memories.

That happened for 2 years running with me and my ex :( We didn't row, but he grudgingly came to the pub, I had the whole 'your friends not mine' even though we were talking to each other, not friends, he got very drunk and stomped off home before 12 leaving me to cry in a corner.

Oh, and on the second time, I came home around 3am, he had put the chain on the door in a drunken huff, I went round the back to knock on the back door to try to wake him......and the glass smashed, turns out I'd hit some kind of 'bubble' in old bevelled glass and the whole pane just fell apart.........:o (I literally knocked, I didn't hit etc!)

Perhaps it's better not to go out after all! :rotfl:

I'm too old for all that anyway!
I struggle in pubs and bars at the best of times - when there's a lot of background noise it affects my hearing so I can't have a conversation.

We should all hire a big house somewhere and have a huge MSE New Years party!

Hi Bunster just got your txt

Not sure what about tomorrow.....I am currently wishing someone would remove my head as its not much use to me at the minute.

I am also not sure how OH would feel about me coming out, I am not sure I can face another two day row....I am actually milking the after effects of our latest two day row....although I would love to escape I am not sure how it will go down...:o

We've done that today. I bribed the kids with After eights to help me :D

Just need to get rid of the tree now, and get everything back to normal

Sammy - read your own sig!!!!

Will you enjoy being stuck in for the sake of it and resenting OH for it
.....or is it better to just be up front and say that you're going out?
