I am also doing squat all on New Years Eve as always!
Next Year we will spend the New Year at Center Parcs!!!!

I see that Adams kids clothing and USC are the latest high street victims of the credit disaster!
I won't be surprised if W H Smith goes down too

    Buffy,
I too am doing NADA for New Years-tbh, we don't normally do anything and it doesnt bother me-DH is working NY Eve and NY Day (day shift) but for some reason, I feel like going out this year! Which won'y happen *sigh*

Maybe we'll have a party on here?

We're staying in too, we have done since we had the kids

I never enjoyed going out on New Years Eve to be honest. It's usually freezing cold, way too busy everywhere, really expensive and you can never find a flipping taxi to get home

OMG I sound like such a miserable cow :rotfl:

  • Well, then I am too Spud-and the one time I can remember going out on NYE with DH to a bar, we had a massive row and I ended up sitting in a freezing car crying like a loser.

    Ah, happy memories.

We're just going to some friends who have kids the same age as us, going to order in a takeway, but doubt we'll be out til midnight and I'll be driving as too cold to walk home with DD in the pushchair.... would rather stay at home and watch Meet the Fockers :rotfl:

You're absolutely right Spud, anyway who wants to spend the whole night packed in like sardines, fighting your way to various bars for over priced drinks with the music blaring so loud you can't hear yourself think.
Then paying a taxi triple the price for the privilege of racing you back home at triple the speed limit!

I remember a couple of years, walking home in the snow in really uncomfortable shoes because of lack of taxis. I'm glad to be staying in, with you lot :D

I'm too old for all that anyway!
I struggle in pubs and bars at the best of times - when there's a lot of background noise it affects my hearing so I can't have a conversation.

We should all hire a big house somewhere and have a huge MSE New Years party!

  • I think that sounds like a brilliant idea Linda!
Or why dont we all just book chalets at CP and meet there?
