please note, all newbies, that I have been flying for a couple of years, and so the house isn't all that bad, playing catch up is not recommended when you first start! (Or ever really if you have any children under the age of five...)

oops. I have been playing catchup today to make up for not doing very much yesterday. I’m quite pleased with the results though as I don't usually have all day to do stuff. But I will remember this when I go back to work on the 5th thanks.
The work will wait for you to finish showing the LOs the rainbow, but the rainbow would not wait for you to finish the work.

feeling OK now, just thinking ahead, don't know what to say when seeing the loved ones afer a loss, but I'm thinking a hug will say pretty much what needs to be said(if I start talking, I think they will start, then I feel guity!!), so a hug is best!!?

Tell them you don't know what to say, people literally said 'I don't know what to say to you' to me after DH died as there were no words that could express how anyone felt at the time. Personally it was better for me for people to say that than utter platitudes that they thought I wanted to hear. The worst thing was 'I know how you feel' I just felt like screaming back 'nobody knows how I feel, I don't even know how I feel' I was such a whirl of emotions from disbelief to despair, shock to denial to total numbness sometimes all at the same time! A hug is great but do say something as it gives the grieving a chance to talk and talk is good even at such an early stage. HTH

Hellsbells so sorry to hear about your cat.

Toochoosey sorry to hear about your friend's Dad. Personally, I think that letting your friend know that you're there for her if she needs you is all you can say really, as you are acknowledging her loss, and giving her support. Not really sure what else I would say really, as luckily I don't have much experience of death.
