lil_me - I couldn't give fosters up, either. Oh, and what on earth are you doing up this time of the night??!?If there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
I have paid another bill so I now have £133 until next wednesday but I only have the 2 mobile bills to pay this month (£70) so that isn't too bad... and I am up to date with everything.

Denise I am soggy and because I have burnt myself in more places than I realised when I got in the bath, I don't think I could cope with using the hair dryer because they'd hurt! See I am a total wuss when it comes to burns. So staying here until it's dry or I'll have terrible hair in the morning, needing to be out in the morning I don't have time to wash it again (doing my first homecheck for a rescue tomorrow
)
pigpen, you're like me, I leave myself short to pay bills off sooner, drives DP mad, he says 'well wait and pay it later' but if I don't do it straight away it won't get done. Night night xxxOne day I might be more organised...........

Thanks Flylady_Flower - I suspect our 'puters have a lot of things we never think to use.
You're not wrong there - I find new things on here all the time, and often if I'm doing something one of the kids will say 'why you doin' that when you could do this...' and promptly show me another way... still, I know enough for me for now, I'm happy to plod on with that and just pick new things up as I go...:DLBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
If anyone else wants them, there are still B&Q discount vouchers left... I've had 7 requests so far, so plenty more available (you may get more than one each, in which case, pass them on). One of my colleagues used one last week to get 20% off a new kitchen, which was already reduced by 50% in the sale :T
I would love a couple if you have them please Greenbee - I need to get a few things for the garden, so that will really help.
You've done great today - I know we've all nagged you about the length of the list, but seriously, well done you! :TLBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
Johanne - hope you feel better soon. Glad OH is helping!
Pigpen - well done on the debt reduction. It's certainly not taken you very long - I hope you are very proud of yourself.
lil_me - Hard decision regarding getting another dog. There are certainly some days when I wish we only had one . . . but then . . . Murphy does something so funny that I can't imagine going back to only one. I suppose that doesn't help you any, does it LOL
Hi Denise, good to hear from you - love the new avatar, what flower is it or do you just like it coz it's pretty?
I to hope you get better too Johanne, and Pigpen, well done on the payments, way to go...LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
I have been pondering pigpens reflection task all day and it has been a useful exercise for me. I have struggled a bit finding 5 as I have had a challenging last couple of years and hope 2009 will be easier. It has been moving reading others posts and hope 2009 will meet all our dreams and expectations.
Best happenings..
1. Birth of DD and DN.
2. Being told that DS’s residual holes in the heart are becoming more and more insignificant over time.
3. Committing to and taking action to take back control of my life.
4. Returning to this site and exploring the forums for the first time, thus finding this super thread.
5. Beginning to dream and set goals with DH again.
Remember most from this thread
I have found a community where I feel safe emotionally, free from (fear of)failure and judgement. My little posts are read and not criticised. They are appreciated with thanks and occasionally made significant with a comment or quote. Someone has taken the time to respond, offering help and support. A community where we can be cared for, a change from doing the bulk of the caring for. A community with nice people and brilliant leadership who reminders us to do something special for ourselves.
Remarkable thing that changed me
DS’s heart ops in 2007 created a paradigm shift and put things into proper perspective for me. Living with others on the wards with varying challenges gave me the strength to count my blessings and look forward towards positive outcomes. It though me among other things not to sweat the small stuff and that it’s all small stuff. I read something recently (cant remember where at the moment) that sums up my new outlook nicely. The work will wait for you to finish showing the LOs the rainbow, but the rainbow would not wait for you to finish the work.
Thanks for welcoming and including me.

Best happenings.. in no particular order
1. birth of granddaughter
2. me and OH finally sorting our relationship out
3. gaining confidence and independance
4. sorting out a financial plan (inc. savings)
5. started to read again
