Have identified a really bad hotspot to deal with. I keep all my files/papers etc from courses in the spare room. For some unknown reason this afternoon something has prompted me to look for my sign language stuff. In the process of looking I realise there is lots I could get rid of.
If you imagine years of work/hobby courses well its a lot of paper.
pigpen I really hope you get your heating fixed soon.
vanilla More hugs for you and hubby.

Hope everyone is ok and had a lovely new years eve and that you're not suffering too much today!
Looking forward to getting to know you all more and having a laugh.. whilst of course doing the hard work as well!!:j "I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." — Marilyn Monroe :j0 -

:hello:Hi dusty! Are you feeling better today? And how about the DS's?
pigpen - I thought you may have just 'flown' the present away somewhere! She's written quite a few if you enjoy it - and I'll happily post you some of mine if you like it. I do hope you get the heating sorted soon - it isn't as freezing here as it was a few days ago, but it isn't exactly warm either...Homebase here often has good sales, and B&Q should have as well.
hugs to vanilla - you're pregnant - when I was I cried over anything and nothing! And you've had a stressful time - how is OH now?
Five of the best things that happened in 2008 (not in order of importance)
1, I went back to teaching after 17 years, and not only survived, I discovered again how much I loved it.
2. Carrying on from above, I was offered a job as a result of the supply work. It's not been easy, but has been a massive boost to my confidence.
3. Despite their best efforts, the NHS failed to finish off my mother, and she moved to a lovely nursing home, and my father's well.
4.All my children are well and happy.
5. I had a fabulous minibreak with DD and three of her friends in Santander.
The one remarkable thing that changed me as a person
I think that happened in 2006, when I spent a month in Bangkok as DS1 was so very ill. I had a lot of thinking time then and during the following two years' of convalescence, and because of that did the returners' course, quit working as a gardener and started teaching - more changes likely on the way!
The one thing I remember most from the thread
Many more than one thing, so I'll just pick a few: the list of Tutti's good points, which turned out to be one of the most wonderful demonstrations of friendship; the support from everyone for me when DS1 went walkabout in August; valli's pegs:D; sexymouse's encouragement, which meant I signed up for supply, and discovered I absolutely loved it. Thank you all of you.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

We are friendly bunch and most of dont bite either:rotfl: :rotfl:
We hope you will enjoy being a part of our fabulous community here and at the same time create a haven to be proud of.
remember your home didnt get in a mess overnight so it wont get tidy in a day - unless of course your are like greenbee today who is cleaning like crazy! Create a daily routine and then try to do pigpen's list to whatever level you can manage. dont worry if you miss bits as it all comes around again next week. A new listt is added every day to the first post - BTw thats where all the abbreviations that we use are as well - so dive in and get started! What better time to join than the first of the year. be sure to post what you have done - its a great way to motivate yourself (and us) to see it in writing!
welcome to the very mad house and may 2009 be a year of achievements for you.
toots xxPeace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

I am a bit late, but, .......
Happy New Year everyone
Not done much today, although did dust through lounge and in the process sorted out some tapes and CD's. Also shifted my cookery books back in to the kitchen and made lovely steak pie with roasted root veg and cabbage for dinner mmmmmmm. Did a load of washing too, and hung up, folded dry stuff, need to iron some bits and then put away (the seconfd two parts will likely be tomorrow!). Might watch Frank Skinner DVD with DH if he fancies it, as TV looks rubbish.
Take care all

Hi Crafty - Do you have Office at all? Mainly Outlook for your emails?
If you do, there is a great little thing on there called 'notes' - they are virtual post-it notes and you can put all your notes on there AND know where they are (not loose them like me coz the sticky has gone...)
