It will depend on how their system is set up to deal with returns of goods purchased before 1st December. I'm lucky, at work I have set my system up to 17.5 % and I manually change all new invoices to 15%.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Well, best solution would be to take a calculator in with you and work out the VAT discrepancy in front of the SA, thus demonstrating how non-pig ignorant you yourself are. I'm sure she'd be impressed and take your word for it rather than what the till said.

    WOW!!

Am i the only one who thinks this forum has become very judgemental? People post on here for help and advice and sometimes just get abuse and blame. I used to post questions on here but now just reply to other threads. Scared of being judged! Shame isn't it?
I like my money right where I can see it - hanging in my closet.;)
  • I personally found the OP extremely judgemental by calling the sales assistant "pig ignorant" :(

    never started on here lol
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.
  • I have noticed not just on this thread, but others of late. Someone posts a genuine question and gets shot down in flames, like they shouldn't even be asking the question.

I all you have to post is sarcasm and don't have something constructive to say then don't bother posting. I;m fed up of reading the comments. It's very off putting for the likes of me, who normally reads and doesn't post much incase i get shot down in flames.

OT i know, sorry, but it's something i feel quite strongly about. :)

You will find that people have reacted to the OP referring to the SA as 'pig ignorant'. If someone can refer to another individual in such a way, then they have to expect a certain type of response back.

I am sick of seeing people attack customer service staff who are just doing their jobs. CS staff have to follow rules and guidelines laid down by head office, so to attack them for following company rules is pig ignorant in itself.

i just had to have my pennies worth on this post, some shop assistants are rude, condesending and make a person who has queried them on whatever subject to feel small an worthless and having come across some like this then yes they are pig ignorant.. thankfully this sort of assistant is a very small minority, but why would the op call someone this unless they had indeed been treated badly..
  • I posted this on here to warn others of the mistake that M&S had made and so that others could make sure they got back the correct amount that had been paid.
I am a very polite person and even smiled throughout all her huffing and puffing and slamming the receipt back into my hand... she wouldnt have known what customer service was if it had smacked her in the nose!
It wasn't the correct amount that had been refunded to me and I had every right to go back to her and say so! not my fault she wasn't happy that her 'till' didnt do the correct job!
