Car advice - flat battery?
Hi
I tried to start up my Honda Civic today, having left it on my drive for what must be about ten weeks now. Unfortunately it did not start. Just a click sound when turning the key. However the lights on the dash come on and the radio is functioning.
Any ideas of what my next step should be. Unfortunately I am not with the AA! Please advise!
Many Thanks to all who read!

Charge the battery or get a jump start with jump leads and give it a good run.
Then check you left no lights or the radio on.0 -
Hello thenap80
I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. How do I charge the battery? Sounds silly perhaps but I haven't a clue. Is it a trip to Halfords!!?0

get someone with a set of jump leads to slave start your car, then take your car for a good drive for an hour or so,let the battery charge up and it may be ok. if you switch it of and it wont start agin then there is a good chance your battery will need replacing....work permit granted!0

Best join the AA, if you factor in the cost of getting all the equipment from Halfrauds then it might not even fix the problem, or get a friend/relative around theat knows about cars.I hate migraines.0

the AA probably wont fix the problem either.
it sounds like a flat battery, theres a good chance if its been stood for 10 weeks.
all it might need is a jump start....work permit granted!0 -
If its totally stone dead,it will need to go on a charger.0

Yeah its stone dead I think. Just a click when I turn the key. No chugging noises or anything to suggest it might start. Although the radio is working and lights on dash are illuminating still.
Are chargers expensive? It might be easier if I get a pair of jump leads from someone.0 -

Or put the jump leads on it and leave the donor car running for 5 mins then try starting the Civic.
Not parked at the top of a slope is it? You could bumb start it.
If you are going to leaving the car for this length of time oftern you need to get a charger or jump start pack thingy.0 -
