I declare a total spend of £374.88
Thats more than double my target but slightly over half of what I normally spend. So I'm quite pleased.0 -
I still overspent on target but not by as much as I expected. Takeaways were extra however and probably were another £45 on top but normally I spent more and extras are more again so still better than normalAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Just finished totallying up my spends for January (I think - may be a couple of quid out due to missing receipts, but doubt it's more than that)
Started the month with a budget of £128
Am now here to report a whopping £157.20
but of this over £80 has been put away for the next few months (was offered a trip to Costco, so spent £60 there on stuff that - as of yet - has hardly been touched)
as such I'm not worried by what appears to be a major (almost 25%) overspend, and hope to come in significantly under budget for the next couple of months (at least!)
For those who are interested, of my £157.20 spend £24.35 was spent on Whoopsies with a 'real' value of £70.83Cheryl0 -

Many thanks
To find it I normally go to the top of the screen when in the previous months challenge, click on the 'MoneySaving Old Style' of where it lists the thread title (in the case of this one 'Home >> Forums > Home & Play > MoneySaving Old Style >> January 2009 Grocery Challenge'), and then it's a sticky at the top of the screen that comes upCheryl0
