Well done and congrats:T .
I'm now declaring at £249.48 which is over but I think I was being too ambitious with DS1 back home from uni (he's gone back today) and I seemed to need loads of toiletris this month.
My target for Feb is £250 and that's from now until end of Feb. i'm going to try and do calender months now as I've started doing the online spending diary and I think it's easier to get reports for the month. We'll see how it goes:rolleyes:
Need to be a bit more orgainised this month too, seemed to be a bit scappy in Jan for some reason. Doing an online Tesco shop this week for store cupbaord stuff and then I'll go to butchers and groceries weekly for fresh stuff.
Good luck to everyone for Feb and well done to all who took part in Jan.

Hi declaring today as I get paid Monday
Final spend on groceries £227.96 which is an overspend of £7.96
This amount didn't include house hold things (ranging from a new bin to new dishwasher!) and I have found it really hard.
I have shopped very carefully and DH has topped us up with a few bits and I haven't counted that, I just can't believe how much it all costs.
for FEB £220 is target again for groceries for 3 adults plus any visitors.
Well done all who have lasted the month0 -
I've got a bit of a dilemma now. I just received a Tesco email with a code in it for £10 off my online grocery shop....but i have to order before the 1st Feb...trouble is, i don't have much money left out of current GC for Jan to do a shop. So can i do a shop for Feb this week and take the money off my allotted £280 GC for Feb, rather than add it on to my Jan spends? I know it's cheeky, but i have worked so hard all this month to come in under my Jan £320 GC budget...but i just can't afford to lose £10 off an online shop as it will pay for the delivery cost and some towards grocery's.
What do you all think?
Technically i have enough food right up until 31st Jan so wouldn't be eating the Feb grocery shop anyway. I'd like some advice as this is my first month doing the challenge and i don't know what i should do.
Thanks in advance.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Hello all! :hello: Just popping in to update...
Mr T's last night - just needed stuff for packed lunches and some other bits and pieces (milk, f&v, etc). Got WW dessert yogurts (4/£1.00), carrots (1kg/54p), onions (2kg/67p) and frosted shreddies (half price @ 99p). There were hardly any whoopies in and the ones they did have were only reduced by a few pennies. It was 5pm tho' so I was too early for the good stuff!!
Extras included choc chip muffins (4/£1.00). Now I know this must seem ridiculous to all you home bakers out there, but I haven't quite got around to that yet- one step at a time, eh?!! And the muffins are SO big they will easily do for a dessert (not just snacky-sized - they are ENORMOUS!!)
DD been off school with S&D most of last week so she's hardly ate anything. Then when she felt a bit better all she wanted was crumpets  (8/57p).
Hoping not to spend much more this month as mine ends on Tuesday :j :j :j
Well done to everyone (those doing well and those not-so-well)- enjoy the rest of the weekend. And BIG congratulations to Jennybee!!!:TGrocery challenge: Jun£134.15/£120; Jul £60.90/£1200 -
So close but yet so far!
I am officially declaring £373.12 which is an overspend of £23.12, (this included all toiletres and food) not bad for a first attempt but the cupboards are soooooo bare its scary!! Ive found doing a menu plan and sticking to it a great help, and its taken the 'whats for tea' stresses away
We have 2 apples and a brown banana left in the fruit bowl, some pork chops carrots and cheese spread in the fridge and we are down to the last 2 toilet rolls!
I need to do a huge shop before OH starts demanding takeaways as there's nowt in!
So i'm increasing my budget to £400 for Feb which starts NOW till end of Feb.
Good luck to all!
Compingirl xCC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!0 -

I would say a definite yes, we shouldn't get so wrapped up in numbers/dates that we miss a good deal - if you have the money, then go for it!;)
Edited to say: and huge congratulations to Jennybee and Welcome Jonathon Douglas... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
