if ur computer is connected directly to your routers via a cable then you may need to setup home networking. All my connections are cabled (much faster) I have my netbook connected directly to my Xbox via a cable and works fine.. If u have laptop that is wifi, try that.
The xbox website is a good place to follow, much more detailsMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
if you register your games for the wii (there is a little slip inside them that has a scratch off panel with the code on) at Club Nintendo:
http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/club_nintendo/club_not_logged_in.jsp
and also there is a slip with a similar code in the wii box
This earns you star points, and if you link your wii to your club nintendo account (it tells u how to link them on the website, it involves going to the shop channel on your wii and finding the club nintendo register button) you can eventually earn enough to exchange for wii points (although you don't get many).
If you have ds games, you can also register them on the same account.0 -

My router cost about £35 from PC World. Trust me - if your kids friends are on xbox live your kids will be badgering you join too so they can play online with them!! This costs about £40 a year. The games are not cheap either! And you have to get wii fit for the wii - its absolutely brilliant and the whole family can join in! This is about £70.MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. G should do just fine - as G is supposed to be reverse compatible with the A and B standards. I know nothing about routers, though, I'm afraid...From Poland...with love.

You could always get a wire to link the xbox and router by wire if router has usb ports in the back, though you would have wasted your money on the wireless adaptor then...0

First off have you tried to see if you can access your computer via the xbox, navigate to My Xbox and chose any of the library options, you should see your pc in the select source, if your computer is there, then you should be able to access the contents as long as you have set up shared folders on the PC (right click the folder or drive on your PC and select Share).
Not sure how it is with XP but should be similar to Vista. In WMP on your computer select library>Media Sharing click on settings in the box that opens up. Click the check box next to "allow new devices and computers automatically" although it says not reconmended you only need it on to pick up the xbox. Click yes on the box that opens, then ok and ok again.
Switch on the xbox or restart it if you had it on. If you go back to WMP and again select Library>share media you should now see the xbox in the window. if it's there then you can go and turn off the allow new devices.
Hope this helps a bit, also please be aware that some files won't play and you will probably have to download an update to play avi and divx files.Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.0
