KJ1980 bagged me over a dozen sets in the 90% sale last year

OMG!! I can't believe that! They told me they were 50% off, I'm gutted as I really wanted them when 75% was on! My Boots HATE me! They really do! I went the whole year stinking and only having samples to use when I was going somewhere really posh! I bought a set at 50% last week!  I'm so angry I might never go to Boots again!

Ok, I will, but only on 75% off day & I'm taking everything!!!:T
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!

    Thanks for the replies.

Thing is I can't bare to touch it. It's completly numb all around the scar - I know this sounds daft but it feels very odd too - like it's not part of my body. Don't know if I can manage rubbing something into it.

Does that make sense? Lol probably not at this hour - but I can't sleep, been up now 21 hours and still bright as a daisy!!

    Yes it makes sense Moyilla.

I have a 3 year old scar on my knee from a car accident, and I cant bare to touch it either. It actually makes me feel physically sick, as stupid as that sounds. My physio said that its due to nerve damage and that you have to persevere with massaging it to de-sensitize it  . I tried to get my DH to massage it instead thinking that maybe it wouldnt feel as weird, but it was just as bad. In fact when he insisted on carrying on (even though I'd asked him to stop), it nearly lead to the 1st steps to the divorce court :D.

One thing that does help (and that I can stand) is a TENS machine.

Thats what gets me wondering about returns.

I wanted to return some a make up gift set before xmas and CS said NO cos its a cosmetic and these cant be returned, yet others returned them no problems.

I have just used a No7 nail varnish i got before xmas and it has all peeled off. Its like that peelable stuff you get for little girls, took me ages to do my nails (trying to keep my hands busy so i dont have a cig, the patches are working a treat) im really disapointed, the colour is gorgeous, i made sure i had no residue of hand cream or anything on my nails so that cant be the reason. SO can anyone think of why it would all just peel off, ive only ever had this happen with cheap cheap nail varnish many many moons ago. I havent got time to redo them no im just gonna have to clean of the little bits and go bare tommorrow.

Its the No7 Stay perfect nail colour ''damson dream''

I find the No7 ones aren't very good on their own....I still buy them cause they're cheap with the blinkies, or they are often reduced...but I find to make them last I have to apply a couple of coats of top coat :) If you just want one that you can put on without using any top coat the revlon ones are quite good :)

    Hello
My CS scar is now over 2 years old and still feels really numb and quite freaky to touch like its not part of me so know just what you mean!
I tried Bio oil which worked really well during my pg and after on stretch marks - but not the stubborn CS scar!
Hope you managed to get some sleep!

Thanks to all those who recommended BACHs rescue remedy. I bought a 50% of gift set yesterday and used the sleep drops last night and i went to sleep like a treat and slept really well, until my DD woke up distressed - bless her.

I couldnt get back to sleep to well then so have been dosing since 4am, but even though i have had litte sleep since 4am, i am happy, alert, wide awake and feel great.

The nicorrrette patches are working a treat too, still no ciggies for me, although before the bachs i was having the most amazing vivid, sometimes freay tiring dreams, but last night the dreams werent so bad. its a sometimes unfortunate effect of the patches.

Im definately gonna get another couple of sets whilst there in the sale, cos i checked the individual prices on .com and the 1/2 price set is great value for money.

    With regards to scars.

I have had 2 c-sections, the first one took about a year for me to get a ''normal'' feeling back around my scar. The second one took about 6 months but the surgeon did a much better job on the second one removing some old scar tissue. At first my scar was horrible to touch and felt all icky and gooey and quite tacky. I too struggle to massage it due to the tacky feeling, my fingersfekt as though they were sticking to the scar. I couldnt bear DF touching it, and nearly cried my eyes out everytime i ran a sponge or flannel over it to have a wash so i got a cheap super soft face powder brush to use in the bath and to add moisturiser. And just gently and slowly ran it across my belly. I found this a lot easier to do and the sensation wasnt as bad.

Its been 14 months since my last section and the scar still isnt fully normal, but i can touch it now, i never needed scar reduction cream on this as you can hardly see it due to the good surgeons work. So bear with it, eventually you will get there. It does take time for the nerve endings to regrow.

I still cant feel my nipples after having breast implants 9 months ago, but i can slowly feel the sensation coming back, i have had the same feelings about touch and sensation with my breasts (ie i hate it) as i had with my c-section much to my DF's annoyance. But i know in time i will get all normal feelings back. The surgeon who did my breats didnt do a very good job and i have hideous thick looking scars, i have great boobs finally and dont want to hide them away all because of a bad scar, so i am tempted to give something a go, but i have NO patience and i will probably forget to apply it, so i would more than likely be wasting my money. I like the idea of the plaster type sticky things so i will look into that more.

  • Hi all

A quick few questions for you. I have really straight eyelashes (ok length but dead straigth !). So needless to say I always use an eyelash curler to help make them look better. I had a great one for years but it eventually broke and I couldn't find that particular brand anymore. So I bought one from arch-Boots enemy S*perdr*g (qvs I think the make was). It was ok (nothing great). That too has now broken, so I'd bought a couple of Boots own branded ones a few months ago, in anticipation that my current one could break at any time. Anyway the Boots one I used yesterday for first time and its absolute rubbish, does curl my lashes at all, in fact makes no difference at all. I am not happy. These were bought a few months ago and I don't have receipt, so I don't think I can take them back. I've got a No7 heated eyelash curler too and thats even more useless.

    Anyway my questions are :

    1) Can anyone recommend a good eyelash curler (manual please not heated) ?
    2) Could I get a No7 or Ruby and Millie one using a blinkie ? (or are blinkies just for cosmetics and only 'certain' other items). Has anyone tried this, has it worked ?
    3) Are there any good gift sets around (e.g No7 or Ruby and Millie) in the sale that include an eyelash curler (it may be cheaper to actually get a gift set with a few other bits than just the eyelash curler on its own). I did look on website but only one No7 gift set with heated eyelash curler, no good to me

Hope someone can help, thanks !

    Hey hunni :hello:

I had to have a breast reconstruction nearly 3 years ago now, and because they removed breast tissue before putting implants in under my chest muscle, against my chest bone iyswim my scars were unsightly but maybe not as bad as yours  But I had mine done with a really good surgeon (mine was done on the NHS though obviously) and she was fantastic....she recommended bio oil to me and I must say you do have to used it on a regular basis for a long time to see a result...but my surgeon told me, within a year or two my scars would fade naturally but using the bio oil they actually faded a lot quicker...in fact with in about 8ish months of having the op they looked fine...I've never had the sensitivity with them you describe as even though they had to reposition my nipples, I have always had feeling in them, and my scars have not been raised so not had problem with them being touched. But you should refer to your surgeon and ask him about prescribing something for your scars...they have lots of alternatives out there including patches, creams, even in extreme cases scar reduction surgery....I just thought I'd let you know my experience of a similar situation - I don't ever recall my scars being that bad  Whether it was the nature of the op, the surgeon or the bio oil I'm not sure...but don't feel like you have to struggle along with yours.....I mean, hey, you paid for it - you want it to be perfect!! :)
