There once was a woman, her name SandraScarlett,
Who shopped with a vengance, and looked like a starlet............................
............................Her humour was legend, her wit was warmhearted,
Except when telling us all that her other half farted...

So with vouchers aplenty, and wisdom in pearls,
Look out Mr B, 'cause, well,
    Here come the girls! :D

Well done Cave. Lovely use of certain SandraScarlet quotes (rhymes with parted).
So much talent on the boots forum/ poetry thread. lol :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Thanks for the replies.

Thing is I can't bare to touch it. It's completly numb all around the scar - I know this sounds daft but it feels very odd too - like it's not part of my body. Don't know if I can manage rubbing something into it.

Does that make sense? Lol probably not at this hour - but I can't sleep, been up now 21 hours and still bright as a daisy!!

I don't know if it helps- but I have a scar- caused by my appendix which is big and ugly- small children freak out at it! (despite doctor at the time saying "yes that will heal up nicely.... god forbid he had done me a c-section)

Anyway! I waited a few years for it to heal- about 3? before forking out around £20 for scar reducing pads by elstoplast (I think) boots now do thier own type- this was not the one I used. The elastoplast ones are a single plasticy silicon type sticky things which you leave on for a few days before changeing (or it could be just one day- was a while ago!) you do the whole sticking on patch thing for about 6 months (or could be weeks- again, long time ago!) and do have to say that I did notice a difference.

It didn't make the scar invisible, -nothing will do that, but did reduce the bold and brassy blue-pink colour to a milder pinky purple (far far more normal) and also reduced the size of it- it used to stick out about double what it does now.

I rarely show my stomach- ok never ever show my stomach, so haven't bought anymore, but would if I could afford to and was going to flash my belly (never ever ever ever...), but bio oil? I have tried that too- lasted 2 days, I am afraid I am also too squeemish, I think its probably something you could train yourself to do, but the patches involve no touching of the scar!

Worth mentioning to the doctor the stuff that Broclo has mentioned and seeing whether you can get this on prescription. I was very surprised at being able to get Lansinoh cream on prescription the other day (supposed to help sore n*pples from breastfeeding) when it sells for nearly a tenner for the same size tube in Boots. For any of those new year dieters, I also heard that you can get slimming club vouchers from some GP's so am phoning mine tomorrow as am supposed to be joining slimming world with mum this wednesday.
    :j ...not! lol!

I am not sure if anyone else has had coupons in their mailing for
100 extra points wyb Soap and Glory
150 extra points wyb Trevour Sorbie
But if so, you can use them on the related mini products ie: £1.96 S&G mini/ £1.56 TS mini, in store, and add a few extra points, might make a change from all those Pantene sachets.:) Herbal Essence has the extra 100 points offer too. Wonder if they have a sachet included in the offer.

Just thought i'd say that my doc helps me make full use of maternity exemption etc and aswell as prescribing liquid vitamins for DS1 he also prescribes things like multivitamins, calcium and iron for me as he says they are important whilst breastfeeding, I just tend to say if there is anything I need(doc gave me nappy cream last time lol) and he prescribes it. From what I understand there is no reason why doctors can not prescribe these things, it is more that they choose not to offer them.

Also I used to run an Esporta (Health and Fitness Club) and we used to get GP referals. Some were completely paid for by the NHS(morbidly obese or recovering from major surgeries involving heart, lungs and hips) and partial (overweight but to the point where stress could be placed on major organs or joints) so it may be worth having an appointment solely for weightloss and exercise with them as not only do you have to be careful with both when breastfeeding but it may help you obtain discount vouchers for weight loss groups and partial or full contribution to health club membership for an exercise programme. If GP does not play ball regarding Health Club discounts, pop into a local chain of clubs and the membership team there will bite your hand off to help you as believe it or not, about 70% of the UK's population are entitled to GP referal!

Also I know our local government run swimming pool has a scheme that offers reduced(and free)rates for swimming via gp referal.

    HTH ... Yawn sooooo bedtime

Sorry about going off topic, but did not want to pm as firstly my pm box is a nightmare to get to function and secondly I thought others may find it helpful too!

Just thought I would add- the scar reduction pads by elstoplast I used were not on prescription- I asked my very horrible doctor for them (he was very horrible as I later had a bad depression, ended up in a psychiatric ward and when I tried to go back to uni, I needed a medical certificate to back me up for not doing any work, he tried to charge me, yes I know this is normal, but he tried to charge me double the going rate!! I was a student!!! Also refused to give me my antidperessant so my psychiatrist had to call him even though the hospital doctors had written to him twice.)

But this was back in 2002 so they may have changed the rules on this- you never know. He did look it up in a big book though- but then again, don't know weather or not to take his word for it!

You WILL get another blinkie as long as your total after all vouchers still totals £5.00, so if you were using 1 to get the NO7 blusher and only paid £3.85 then NO you wont get 1 back but if you spent another £1.15 to make it to £5 then you would get another.
    .

Thank you for clarifying that, I thought that in the past, I had been given a new blinkie even if I had paid with a blinkie and maybe that is why :)

    How about a rescue dog?

I bought and applied the No7 Stay perfect Betty Blues varnish last night. Let it dry completly and it looked nice. Went to bed, and just looked at my nails and they are all chipped.. Im glad I only paid £1.12 (Blinkie) as I wouldnt pay full price for it. I also thought it would be more Blue, but its very dark and looks black.
Oh well, im off to dig out my stripey tights and black clothes and be a goth for the day.
