Alliance and Leicester Online Saver Account

I've just had a letter from A&L saying that the interest rate on the Online Saver Account (issue 1) has dropped to 4.5% for balances under £30,000. Just thought it was worth a mention for any account holders who weren't aware. I'm off to work out whether it's worth moving my money to another savings account
EDIT: I can't find anything in the Online Saver Account (issue 2) T&Cs to say I can't open one and move my money to that - have I missed something?!
EDIT 2: From A&L website:
"Can I have more than one Online Saver?
No. It is only possible to maintain one Online Saver from each Issue per person. If you decide to open a joint account, you cannot also maintain another account in your name, sole or joint. However, if you already maintain an Online Saver you may also open an Online Saver Issue 2."
So when they say no, what they mean is, yes
Have just applied so 5.15% here I come!

Stonk mentioned this more than a week ago. Getting the info via post, rather quaint."The state is the great fiction by which everybody seeks to live at the expense of everybody else." -- Frederic Bastiat, 1848.0

Oops didn't see that due to only being able to search for "Alliance", not "A&L".
It doesn't seem on informing people by post of a rate change that happened a week ago!.0 -
I rec the same letter today, I opened an Online Saver 2 account when they were first issued and transferred my savings from my Online Saver account to it, but left £1 in it for when the bonus rate stops on the Online Saver 2 account. as the rate has dropped to 4.5%, I will look around for the best offer or put it in my Nationwide e-saving account.0

Can anyone tell me if you can easily transfer funds between the two Online Saver Accounts, and if so how long it takes.0

Are you puttting in the correct number? A&L's own 9 number acc code and not the tradditonal 8 number code. - just my 2cents worth0 -

You can use their cash card in almost any cash machine displaying the LINK sign for free or withdraw cash at any post office (or sub branch) if you can find one still open
The interest rate for the Premier Direct Current Account is 5.00% AER (fixed until 31.03.07) on balances up to £2,500, 0.10% AER (variable) on balances over £2,500.
I've also applied for the Online Saver 2 @ 5.15% AER as I have Issue 1 @ 4.15%.
