This is a bargain - it's a lot more money eveywhere else for a PAYG model. It's on O2 and O2 phones take Vodafone sims (and probably others) without unlocking. They're selling for up to £140 on Ebay! :j

calibrax wrote:Sorry, but O2 phones don't take Vodafone sims unless they've been unlocked. I've had plenty of phones from O2 in the last 10 years, and I always have to unlock them to take other sims. This includes various Nokia's and Motorola's, including the V3 (my current phone).
I've swapped Vodafone/O2 sims in Nokia 6210/6310i/6230 without unlocking them.I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0 -

Then the phones involved were already unlocked as Vodafone and O2 are not interchangeable.
Contract O2 phones are 99% of the time unlocked, their PAYG phones are 99% of the time not.0 -
I've also had both 02 and vodafone sim's/phones over the years, and have never been able to swap them in and out of phones, except for when the phone has been unlocked.
Phones definitely do need to be unlocked in order to accept both vodafone and 02 sim cards (some retailers will commonly sell phones that happen to be unlocked, e.g. Carphone Warehouse, but you probably won't be aware that they're unlocked).0 -
tO BE HONEST V3 IS A TOTALLY CRAP PHONE. My brother has one he doesnt even use it, he wants to sell it on n he had it fro like 3 months. The phone isnt worth £50. Thats my POV.0

That probably explains it - I've always had contract phones, both personal and business.I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0 -
If you can be bothered to go through the 1 yr contract and getting the associated cashback you get get the V3 either silver or black for an all in cost of just under £31.

The black Razr is available from Phones4u for £119.99 including genuine Motorla bluetooth headset. Sold on O2 but unlocked - mine works with Vodafone, O2, Virgin & Orange (knew those free SIMS would come in handy!).
This is a great classy phone at a great price & I love mine.0
