Give them to a care home for the residents to share.

I'm not sure either a health-centre / care workers or care home residents would be wise accepting an open box of chocolates - no matter how kindly intended. There's enough nutters in the world now to think they should probably be a bit more cautious than taking something like this from a stranger.

I like either the idea of taking them into work or giving them to a relative.

    Hi Honeysuckle,

I'd give them away or take them into work where no doubt they'll be appreciated. There are some ideas on this thread that may help:

    Leftover chocolates

Or according to this moneysaver they will keep until next year:

I'm thinking of making a £3.99 sweetie bet - will it work?

I'll add your thread to the first link later to keep the suggestions together.

  • I always pass them on to a family member/friend who likes the leftover ones no-one else does. Other wise work is a good idea.

I always end up getting the coconut ones and the nutty ones as my tribe aren't keen I always say thank you very much and bung them in the bottom drawer of the fridge and have a treat in the evening when watching t.v.

See this is like that fabled leftover wine, neither just don't exist in this house :-)
Taking them into work would be my shout.
  • Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Taking them into work isn't really an option as I'm on maternity leave and my other half works in a school and I know every teacher will have the same issue as they all get tons of chocs from the kids as presents!

I'll have a read through this thread for other ideas then will look at putting them on freecycle I think.

  • What? Left over chocolates! What are they? I've never heard of such a thing before! Are you ill? OMG! Worse still. You don't know what to do with them! Oh, the scandal of it all !!!
Wish you lived near me and I'd solve your problem of what to do with them in jig time.
