Give them to a care home for the residents to share.

I'm not sure either a health-centre / care workers or care home residents would be wise accepting an open box of chocolates - no matter how kindly intended. There's enough nutters in the world now to think they should probably be a bit more cautious than taking something like this from a stranger.
I like either the idea of taking them into work or giving them to a relative.0 -

Hi Honeysuckle,
I'd give them away or take them into work where no doubt they'll be appreciated. There are some ideas on this thread that may help:
Leftover chocolates
Or according to this moneysaver they will keep until next year:
I'm thinking of making a £3.99 sweetie bet - will it work?
I'll add your thread to the first link later to keep the suggestions together.

I always end up getting the coconut ones and the nutty ones as my tribe aren't keen I always say thank you very much and bung them in the bottom drawer of the fridge and have a treat in the evening when watching t.v.0

See this is like that fabled leftover wine, neither just don't exist in this house :-)
Taking them into work would be my shout.0 -
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Taking them into work isn't really an option as I'm on maternity leave and my other half works in a school and I know every teacher will have the same issue as they all get tons of chocs from the kids as presents!
I'll have a read through this thread for other ideas then will look at putting them on freecycle I think.0 -
what about donating them to local nursing home, that way you wont feel so guilty x:A :j0
