What do you want the machine to do? Is there a specific task that it will be used for i.e. gaming, graphics, database work etc? If it is just a general purpose box then expect to pay about £250-£300, however try and keep away from Intel Celeron type processors, keep an eye open for Pentium-Class CPU's like the Core 2 Duo, you will reap the benefits by paying an extra £20-£50 over a Celeron box.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0
