Nokia 6230i turning on concatenated SMS

I got a message the other day and it came as two separate messages, first 128 characters and the second 17, looking on the nokia website it says that the phone I have has concatenated SMS so how do I turn it on, I thought it worked automatically, I've not experienced this on other phones I have had in the past.
