I've got the Morphy Richards SC 6.5L
and the plastic handles have broken on either side, does anyone know if I can buy replacements and is it possible to take it apart to replace them?

    thanks for that :)

what I really need to know is, is there a way of getting at the screws holding the handles on as they are not visible from the inside

morphy richards helpline telephone number is 08450 777700. If you have the model and serial number they are very good at sending replacements (products and parts) free of charge.

I'm hoping that with nearly everyone in OS now having one I'm hoping someone else may have had the same problem and will tell me how to go about it :)

    Hi Glad

This has happened to mine! Just phone the number and they will send you out a new lid so you don't have to worry about how to take the broken old one off. The Morphy Richard folk are very helpful I find. When the switch broke on mine they sent me a new cooker!:T Good luck!

    Hi catznine
it's actually the handles on the side of the SC that have broken and if you lift out the dish there doesn't seem a way to get at the screws

    Just called the number
I think I may have been too honest as I told them I'd had it over 3 yrs so they said it was out of warranty, but they have let me buy a brand new one, the newer model for £12 (normally £35) so I'm pleased, the old one still works so I'll pass that on to someone too icon10.gif

I wonder if they'd replace my crockpot

I used it on Sunday to cook a whole chicken and sat the chicken on some veggies with about an inch of water to make a stock/gravy from it, but I think I added cold water then turned it onto high for an hour to give it a head start before switching to low. I noticed as I washed and dried it that there's a huge crack in the glaze going round the pot at about the level the water came to and it definitely wasn't there before!

I don't even know if it's safe to use anymore :o
