Yes - go to the store (or ring up) and quote the sku - there are probably more than one "might mouse" listed on the system.
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

The on line system is not the same as the store system.

If you dial the 0845 number for Currys / Dixons / PCWorld you get a call centre in Sheffield. They do not have access to the stores stock inventory or prices. You mist contact a store directly, they are ex-directory but if you Google search you might find a direct number (not 0845 but a geographic code for the area of your local stores).

If you call or visit at a quiet time ask a CS person to search for you they can track down in store stock.

Be polite and patient you may find some stock. These clearance items are good value if they are what you need and are in stock.

Thanks again to the OP JAKG

Thanks to Jakg for original post - I managed to get a TOMTOM 520 for under £80, not bad as it can be updated with same firmware & software as newer 530 for free and now gives IQ routes. Also got 4 PS3 games for between £2-97 and £4-97. Farnborough branch - was a few specials remaining when I left, mainly cameras, MP3 players and one TOMTOM 920 (£149).
I've got a 520.. How do you update to the 530 FW & SW?
The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

If you just bought it in the sales - then go to TOMTOM homepage on internet and download the latest version of 'HOME' (version 2.5). When installed, reboot then connect your 520 via the usb docking station. Home will start up, first backup your 520, then 'update my device' (you may need to do this twice to bring the firmware upto the latest version 8.300. After your f/w is upto date, then goto 'tools' on top of Home and select 'use latest map guarantee'. This will update the map to version 815.2003. You then have a 520 that is as upto date as a 530 or 540 (with IQ routes and lane guidance enabled) for a fraction of the cost.

Hope this helps, PM me if you need any more help...

Well I went to PC World bright & early Saturday morning as I was after the DVD Recorder for £25 got a lady at PC World to do a search for me went to the stores & was told the one they have in stock is the display model & they dont sell the display model.

If you said to them that the price is £24.97 and anything with a price ending in .97 is a discontinued item, they would have sold it to you. You just needed to speak to a supervisor or manager.

That's odd? I've found that some stores with 1 unit often have demo units or ex-display units where the box has been opened.

Usually they have all the manuals and accessories, once the unit was faulty so they could not sell it to me. Never told display units were not for sale?

Sometime demo units are sold for less they knock of some money or sell it at the same price but throw in an extended warantee.
